feedback about St Clare Hospital
I was a patient for a week when I recently had my gallbladder removed and from the beginning (ER) to being admitted up until my release, I was treated w/ respect, the nurses and doctors were in pretty quick, but we're patient with me and my health problems, made me feel comfortable and we're very understanding about everything I was going through. The nurses, physicians, surgeons and all other hospital staff were all great. I had a very pleasant stay while there. I would strongly recommend this hospital to anyone and everyone I can think of. Excellent Experience! ThankYou so much to all the health care providers and staff that treated me while I was admitted.! You all were so great to me and I was calm and strong through the whole thing mainly because of all of you 🤗 And I had a 100% recovery after discharged home.
I'll be back in someday, just not now😝
James decided to spend 15 minutes of my slot schedule on another physical therapy patient. Horrible communication among staff in regards to messages left on voicemail machine. Feel like I'm wasting my time instead of getting better. They don't wipe down spots after previous Patients use. They won't call you, But they will call your emergency contact. You can't look them up off Google to leave a message. Somebody needs to get with the program.
Don't like being treated like an animal and I don't like being talked down to and I know the care I would like to receive a 15-minute office visit is not what I call caring and this is for the doctors in specialty I had doctor sasko and the other one is Sybil she sits there and preaches about losing weight but yes she's about as big as a house if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black how impersonal at this office the only one is labre and he's great he is my Mom's doctor as far as the hospital the hospital is Van tastic I would give them 12 to 14 to 18 stars if I could
The emergency room staff were really great people, except for 1 nurse who would not listen to me for an IV problem. When it became an obvious situation she said I should have " said something"...SMH...
After being admitted I had a doctor who missed the whole course on bedside manner, she was rude, acted as though I was wasting "her" time and that I didn't need to be there at all. This was after the first MD stated it was a good thing I came in when I did..
The Physician I ended with was from India & she was difficult to understand so when I brought this up...oh my...she became very rude and frowned at me stating " maybe I should look into other cultures".
When they said I could go home after 3 days they all but threw me out!! I explained I live on Anderson Island & my kids were on the boat & would be there in less than 30 minutes...but the charge nurse with her pathetic attempt at a fake friendly smile said " yeah we've heard that before, so we've called you a cab" I'm still trying to figure out if she was referring to me or the Island in general, cuz I've never met her in my whole life! When I attempted to correct her she just gave me a "screw you smile" and told me to take care.
Then 2 other nursing aids dumped my purse, broke the back off my phone all while trying to load stuff to get me out. Surreal is the only way I can explain this hospital stay, I believe all this happened because I was put into a room with an unstable psych patient & during a complete melt down I tried reaching my call light & fell out of bed right on my face.... This was unbelievable!
Just to be clear...this wasn't a psych unit...it was progressive care.
Why would the hospital put anyone in with a clearly violent patient?
This whole visit was a total CF! Believe it or not there were several other things that happened... But I'm getting angry just writing this much.
If you can go to a different hospital? Go. But please, if you're not sure or it is bad, then go to St. Claire. You can always get a transfer.
Look, I don’t get where most of these 1 stars are coming from—it’s a hospital, it has limited staff, it gets busy; I feel like a lot of these bad reviews stem from misperception, assumptions, bias, and misunderstanding. That being said, I’m a Hispanic, 29 year old male, and I had an excellent visit. They got me in as quick as they can (all their rooms were full, but they squeezed me into a recliner in a hallway), and I had a front row seat to how they were dealing with everyone. Wonderfully pleasant and kind, professional, and helpful. After my visit, I went up to the front and had some insurance difficulties, but they did their best, and I left. Not one complaint.
