I had my baby there and it was the best experience! My nurse, Heather Downs, made all the difference. She knew what I needed before I did. She was caring and compassionate. I can’t tell you how much that meant to me. My Doctor, Dr. Jewell, was awesome too! When I had my last child, at a different hospital, I had a hard time and recovery was horrible. With Dr. Jewell my recovery was so fast, barely any pain. He was also quick with ordering the epidural. I would recommend this hospital to anyone, espically if you can get Dr. Jewell and Heather Downs.

Had a couple of procedures done yesterday at this hospital. It was my first time there but I was impressed upon arrival. The hospital is brand new and everything is immaculate. Once I went into pre-surgery, all of the staff from nurses, doctors, and even the volunteers were friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. I was thoroughly impressed and happy with the care I received. I'd highly recommend this hospital to anyone in the area.

My husband was recently admitted for a head injury, he spent 5 days in ICU and one night on regular floor. The daytime ICU nurses were great, I was not impressed with the night shift. He was discharged the day before Thanksgiving, I believe he was pushed out early because of the holiday. He was sent home without a shower(6 days) not even sponge bath. He did not eat for 2 days prior to discharge and nobody even noticed or cared. Nobody asked about home structure, such as stairs or who would be home. I don't believe he had an occupational evaluation to assure he was mentally stable to go home instead of rehab. This will be the last time we make this facility our first choice .

I visited this hospital a week ago for an emergency for the first and LAST time. I wouldn't even bring my dying dog here if I could. There was dust all over the place that was extremely thick. The floors were dirty and filthy. The staff members were all young which is okay but they were inexperienced. Someone had to come help the resident take one's blood pressure. If my life depended on visiting this location, may the good Lord take me now and may I rest in peace. I was so disgusted by this environment, I expressed my concerns to the stuff but they had no comments. I also took photos because the board of health needs to come in and see how unsanitary this location is. Other staff memebers were online shopping at the front desk, taking photos of each other. I also noticed that upon discharging soneone, they did not clean the room before the next patient came in. A nurse had to tell someone this one needed to be cleaned but they failed to do so while I was standing there observing. This is the worst hospital I've ever visited

Recently I was in St. Joseph Mercy for a urinary tract infection. I did not know what was wrong when I first went to the emergency room. The nurse's and doctor's were great. They ran all kinds of tests and found the infection. I wad there for 4days. I was on the third flour room 3107. The nurse's on that floor were fantastic. They answered every question I had. They explained every test they were doing. And they do all of this with a smile on their faces. Even though some patients can be very troublesome. I was there to get better not bother the nurse's with my every little wish. I think I hit the call button 3 times in four days. And it was for medical stuff. Anyway my stay was pleasant for being in the hospital. I have great respect and admiration for the nurse's and doctor's at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital on Woodward in Pontiac. Especially the nurse's.
