Almost 3 years ago, I was hospitalized for 2 weeks thru the ER at STPH. It was my 1st hospitalization in all my 34 years & I was terrified! Doctors had no idea what was wrong with me. They just knew I was very sick & would be lucky to survive. Two days after being admitted to CCU & after every test imagineable, I finally had a diagnosis!

(aHUS: an ultra rare autoimmune disorder that primarily effects the blood & kidneys)

STPH doctors, nurses & other staff were THE GREATEST!! They were comforting, caring, friendly, patient & attentive to me, my needs, my concerns & my family! From the head doctor to the cleaning lady, they all knew me & addressed me by my 1st name! This group of professionals made my hospital stay a very personable experience all while nursing me back to health! I wouldn't be alive today if it weren't for this amazing group of people! ❤️

This place NOT worth 1 star! On 11/6/18, I took my 8 year old child to STPH ER Covington for difficultly breathing. He has a history of allergies and asthma. The signs he was showing was hard to distinguish if he was having an asthma attack or having an severe reaction, holding throat, glossy eyes, etc. In the midst of the panic I pumped him with the rescue inhaler and I took him to the STPH ER. I gave the male receptionist/rep my child’s name. He told me to be seated. I assumed the guy checked in and going to get a medical personnel to further assist. After about 10 minutes or more of waiting I went back to the desk to check the status of my child being seen. Another male receptionist/rep told me it would be a 3 hour wait. I had to repeat it to make sure I heard him correctly. I said my son having difficulty breathing and you telling me the wait time is 3 hours. He nonchalantly said yeah. I got my kid and went to another ER and was treated immediately for asthma attack and check for anaphylactic reaction. I work in healthcare I do understand there may be a wait and I was very patient. But have the decency to check his throat to see if it’s closing up or send him to the Peds ER part to be evaluated to see why he’s having difficulty breathing. STPH ER Covington has failed me and my son!

My daughter had procedure done in January of 2018 and I received one statement in mail stating we owed a balance. We told them this was supposed to be filed with insurance. They then proceeded to turn over to collection agency after sending the one statement. I called to pay immediately after receiving the recovery letter because our credit is perfect and didn’t want anything to affect it. St Tammany states that they sent 4 letters that they never sent to us. They are ridiculous and people really need to watch this shady hospital billing. I would not do anything with this hospital again..

If I could give less stars I would. I visited the office in Folsom and was told:
1. I would have to live with the pain in my back. That I shouldn’t have according to him.
2. That he could not say if I had this injury prior to going into the military (he was my doctor for 5 years before I left and I never had an issue with my back) but he didn’t give me an MRI so he couldn’t say if I did or not.

After each of my 2 visits with him which I spent 30 mind waiting and 5-10 mins talking with him I was billed $197 in total. This is after my insurance. After speaking to my mother I found that st. Tammany seems to charge more when you use some insurance companies.

I am very upset with the service I was provided and after going to a different doctor I was told that with physical therapy my back will be healed in about a year.
