St Tammany Parish Hospital

No matter where you go in the hospital it smells good. The wait time for the emergency room is not what the website states at night. It seems they do not have enough employees to accommodate the amount of patients. I have been to their emergency room on several different occasions at night and the wait time was over an hour and a half! I had to leave and go to another hospital's emergency room rather than sit that long in pain. As an inpatient I have to say for the most part the nurses were very nice and caring and listened to what you had to say. However the night shift nurse was not very friendly. Nor was the nurse assistant he looked so tired and not very talkative. The food is awesome. The rooms are nice and comfortable.

The hospital itself is spotless from head to toe the bathrooms you’re really important to me and my spouse are immaculate. Whoever did the design kudos to you my friend. The staff overall was very nice the doctor on the other hand let’s just say his bedside manner can use some improvement.

This place infuriated me due to their staff’s complete lack of care and professionalism. I just spent three days with my wife in a room and all that was gained from the experience was if you don’t agree with the staff or the doctor then they don’t care about you or your wellbeing. The doctor was uninterested in the opinions of my wife and myself despite us being right. All they wanted to do was show that just because they were trained they had to be right and us wrong. Even during discharge they refused to state the problem because it was not their diagnosis. Instead they discharged us with a not sure what happened and it must have fixed itself. The new family center is the only portion of this hospital that will ever get the business of me and my family again. The rest of this hospital needs to be vetted for arrogance and incompetence before I will even consider returning.

Wonderful staff at emergency room and pediatrics. My daughter had a accident with pruning shears and the staff were compassionate and treated my daughter with respect and patience. I haven't had an experience close to this good since the Hasbro Children's hospital up in Providence, Rhode Island. Parking was easy, building and facility are clean and well maintained.

Everything went perfectly! From checking in at pre-op to the hospital stay, every aspect of this stay went smoothly. We didn't have to wait at all to be checked in and taken back to a private pre-op area, all of the nurses were friendly and helpful, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience!
