We were so worried when the hospital sent my mom to Straith for rehab. There was no need to worry. From the very first minute, literally, everyone was so nice. She saw the nurse, the aide, the pharmacist, the social worker, the doctor within the first hour. The dietician checked in regularly. The care was fantastic. The facility was clean and well managed. They get high marks from me! Thank you Straith Rehab Staff!!

I brought a client in for eye surgery. The staff was friendly, efficient, and welcoming. The lobby is open and comfortable. I was able to work while waiting and they give the person waiting a pager to let you know the surgery is over which is cool. Had no idea this place existed until today. Great work and kudos to the staff and medical director. You can tell good leadership when you see it.

Wonderful staff and care. Best place my dad could have gone to for rehab. Not easy being 91 but they are fantastic in care and understanding

I was concerned when the local hospital transferred me 20+ miles away to Straith for rehab, a hospital I knew nothing about. That first day also was a bit unnerving with the steady stream of people in my room shoving papers at me to sign but not allowing me sufficient time to read them. And being asked exactly the same questions by at least 4 people was disheartening. Had I been transferred for my betterment? What was I in for? There must be a way for Straith to share info amongst departments or, at the least, have 2 people at the same time come ask me the repetitive questions. A bit of orientation from at least 1 of them, on what I should expect during my stay at Straith, may have settled my nerves somewhat.

DAY 2 things started to settle down. Dedicated time, one-on-one, with the PT and OT therapists assigned to me, and I was determined to take advantage of every minute. Therapy room well equipped. One particular PT really impressed me with her determination that I improve each day, and then cheering on my accomplishment, whether it was big or small.

One of the night CNAs, Cora, had a constant, cheerful demeanor and quickly responded to anything asked of her. For the most part so did 98% of the employees I interacted with after Day 1.

Just a couple comments on the facility itself.
PRO-small hospital, one-on-one therapy, private rooms, food was good.
CON-why don't the bathroom showers work? Why only ONE grab bar on 1 side of the toilet? If anything, there should be a grab bar mounted on the wall directly in front of the toilet, at least in the room I was in. I would have had a bit more confidence standing.

All in all, I had a good stay at Straith and returned home much stronger. If I could rate Straith 4 1/2 stars, I would.
