Worst experience I have ever had at a medical facility in 62 years. Gashed my head on a rock and just wanted an opinion as to whether I needed stitches. Went up to check in at reception desk and after 30 seconds the young lady looked up from her phone to get my information. About 45 minutes later a nurse came over to get my info sheet and I never saw a medical person for the next four hours.
No one had the decency to tell me that it was going to b a long wait to b seen. I finally left. I know that Bryson City is a small town, but they need to find a way to operate their facility. SAD!

We were in the are for a weekend getaway, unfortunately we had to visit the ER for my one year old, he fractured his leg. The waiting room was clean and the restrooms and room where clean as well. The front desk personal was very polite. We were in the waiting room for about 20 min or so, it was not log considering other hospitals waiting times.
The Nurses were great and nice to my baby, who was crying most of the time they were trying to touch him or do the x-ray. They were very professional. The doctor was nice as well, the overall time we spend there was about 2 hours, is not bad for a hospital ER.

By far one of the best hospital experiences yet. My family and I are out of state vacation when our daughter became sick after stopping at many urgent cares and no one willing to take out of state insurance or wanted it all paid for up front we came here. Very welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. They got us right back and seen. The doctor was outstanding very knowledgeable and explained everything in great detail. I could not be more impressed with our experience.

Do not accept services here if uninsured. I was billed $1,000 for a stool sample. Absurd

Nurses are great but the doctors are horrible! I’ve brought my fiancé here twice and I honestly don’t believe we will ever be coming here again. The first incident was during the summer and he had received a big bite and seemed to be having a terrible reaction to it to the point he could barely walk. Once the doctor came in, he looked like he could genuinely care less about anything and stood over a yard away from my fiancé the entire visit as though getting close to him would infect him or something and didn’t bother to check the bite to see what it could be or anything. But he did prescribe some medication that did help so we decided to overlook it. The second incident occurred the other day. My fiancé has been sick for nearly two and half months now and started off with bronchitis. It was during the weekend and the symptoms were really bothering him so we decided to go to the er as a final resort. We got in really quick and we’re put in a room with an older couple. The nurses were super friendly and seemed to know exactly what was wrong with my fiancé and so we assumed that everything was going to be good, we were wrong. Before seeing us, the doctor went to the couple next to us and listening to everything happening really boiled my blood. From what I could understand, the man had been there for approximately FIVE hours and had came in due to a heart attack. Listening to the wife and doctor, he also had a history of cancer and other health problems. The doctor just glazed right over these facts as if they meant nothing and continued to basically say that he would just have to see his primary doctor instead. Also, this man had hearing problems and the entire time the doctor kept getting annoyed and snappy at him despite the wife trying to explain and help. And after all of this, the wife was still asking if there was anything to do because there was another issue they hadn’t addressed and the doctor just ignored her. Shortly after, the doctor came to see us. My fiancé explained his situation and the doctor ignored all of it and just said that the flu and colds are going around so it’s probably that. Meanwhile, he was still in an obviously foul mood and you could tell he was just trying to get out of there as fast as possible. After ‘listening’ to everything, he said he would prescribe some antibiotics but ‘they probably won’t work’. He also asked if my fiancé was taking any medications and so he told him and one of the ones was a cold medicine from wal-greens that literally just has wal-greens as the brand but the doctor kept getting annoyed because he didn’t know what brand that was! At the end of it all, he dismissed everything we had said and ultimately told my fiancé that he should really just get a primary care doctor (which we both know would have been more appropriate to see, but my fiancé recently moved and has had no time to get one due to working) and then asked if he had insurance, which he sorta does but the card has some information wrong but we can’t change it unless we know what it is but no one ever tells us, and after telling the doctor this, he seemed even more upset and told us to get insurance or go to sylva! I’ve never been more furious in my life than I was during this visit and once we find the discharge papers with the doctors name, we will definitely be calling because his treatment of not only us but an elderly couple? That was extremely inappropriate and I can say with certainty I never want to come back to this place as long as doctors like him are working there!
