feedback about Uintah Basin Medical Center
Typically I refrain from writing a review about a business unless it is positive. However, this hospital has left me quite furious. About nine months ago my wife had her fourth miscarriage in a row. It was tragic. After the doctor diagnosed a miscarriage, he rushed her into surgery and she had a same-day surgery that lasted about 1-2 hours. That was nine months ago. Since that time we have healed emotionally, or at least as much as is possible after losing so many potential children. We have paid bill after bill after bill for the doctor, the anesthesiologist, and who knows what else. We were under the impression that everything was paid off. Then today, without warning, we received a bill for over a thousand dollars for the surgery. I understand that we have to pay our bill. But receiving a bill so far removed from the services rendered is such an ugly reminder of that tragic time. It leaves a very poor taste in my mouth. It should also be noted that despite having good insurance, the cost of going to this hospital was about twice as much as going to Salt Lake City (unfortunately we have miscarried on the Wasatch Front not too long ago so we are aware of the costs of a D&C there). So beware the billing. The facilities are nice enough for a hospital, especially a rural hospital. That is why I gave it two stars. We will avoid anything that has to do with the Uintah Basin Medical Center in the future.
ZERO stars (you actually have to give the place one star to even let your post be posted one way to pad the count) ....my husband had knee surgery and was a patient for 3 days and I cleaned his room and bathroom, I changed his bed lines, I went in search of towels and I had to bring a fan from home because the two people we asked for one were just too busy or too forgetful to get us one. He of course was in pain and when he used his call bell to ask for some the great person on the other end didn't end the call so we could hear the nurse's station talking about him and other patients.....and the person in the room next to him was on respiratory precautions with the little cart outside the room but the door was wide open and a fan was oscillating back and forth....I figured UBMC just wanted more patients if they were spreading germs...we couldn't leave fast enough
This review is for the UBMC in Vernal. Billing here is awful! My husband and I had received physicals a year ago. (From a different health car facility) But we did the blood work through UBMC since it is located in the same building as the place we received our physicals.
We never received a bill and we both figured insurance had covered the whole thing . It wasn’t till a year later we get a letter from an attorney saying we had an unpaid bill. Luckily the attorney office was very nice and helped me figure things out, to get it properly taken care of.
For anyone in Vernal I don’t recommend going through them for anything, just go over to the hospital if you need blood work or other tests done.
I only gave it 1 star because it wouldn't let me give 0. The walk in clinic is awesome. But the hospital itself leaves a LOT to be desired. Employees that seem to be put out to actually help you. I'm glad that what I had was not life threatening!
My husband Laird had surgery at the Roosevelt Hospital and Dr. Kyrsmowski was an excellent and exceptionally skilled surgeon !! He save my husband's life !! The nurses, aides, and all staff at the Roosevelt Hospital were excellent, professional, caring, accurate, helpful, and very very good to Laird !! Thank you !! Thank you !!
