Make the ride. The time you spend waiting in ER you could drive to the better Hospitals . RICE is all was called for after 4 hours RICE never administered. Nice cops however.

The heart and pulmonary unit seem to provide excellent care. The chaplain program and opportunity for pastor care is very good. However, the knowledge of infectious disease, infection control and immunology is very poor. I have seen the hospital building facility improve over a 50 year period. However, I have a very mixed quality of care for my parents and my family in my 62 years.

Do not waste your time going here. You’ll be better off going to a different hospital. Even if it’s farther away than Uniontown Hospital. I’ve been treated poorly on more occasions than I can count at this hospital. I wait long periods of time for care that is beyond mediocre. Most staff members are rude, dismissive, lack compassion or empathy, and have, on numerous visits, made me feel like I did not matter. The only thing they care about is how quickly they can get you out the door. During my most recent visit I overheard a nurse in the hallway ask another nurse, in reference to a patient, “who did you get rid of?” Shouldn’t their concern be about the care they’ve provided and the patients health?! Not to them! Patients are thought of as a pest that they need to rid themselves of as quickly as possible regardless of the care they’ve provided or how satisfied a patient is with the care, or lack there of, that they’ve received. There are, of course, exceptions as some staff members are truly focused on patient care, but they are few and far between. The care I’ve received is so poor that I now find myself almost afraid to go to the hospital for anything regardless of severity. I’ve been made to feel hopeless, looked down on, frustrated, embarrassed, afraid, and less than human by the staff at this hospital. Please think TWICE and consider other options before stepping foot in this place!!

....Can't tell who needs help, the patient? or the staff as a whole?! They always try to get you out as soon as possible, they don't even care about your condition. (even if it could be serious) my mother had 2 strokes and eventually forgot who she was. When she went to the hospital they told hr she had a headache and made her leave. My little sister went there after a allergic reaction to get a shot. Of course, (being that my sister was 3 at the time) she cried and scrambled because of her fear of needles. 3 nurses held her down until the one with the needle became impatient and STABBED HER WITH IT! I went there after a overdose (I thought taking 10 different vitamins everyday kept you healthy) they told me I ALSO just had a headache from stress. Even though i was clearly throwing up everything and could barely walk. They sent me home with some heavy drugs and called it a day. What the living hell? It's like they never show compassion up there. I can't speak for everyone- but every time I go there it only gets worse and worse.

Labor and delivery unit is a joke.
All they do is push drugs and epidurals on their patients. They also won’t let you walk around. For real how do you expect a mother to progress if she can’t even walk around. I’ve never seen a L&D unit like this. Absolutely pathetic. And most (not all) but most of the staff is down right rude.
