Hand washing? Nope. Informative? Not at all. Condescending and rude? Yep! I have had good experiences with the ER and ICU when my daughter was sick, but pediatrics is a joke. I just left from getting my twins immunized without any information about the risks or side effects or anything, and when I asked the doctor, and then the charge nurse just verbally listed them too quickly for me to even follow. This was before and after their shots were given by one nurse with NO gloves and another nurse wearing gloves and neither of them washed their hands before or after!

The overall experience was good except for the one staff member in the discharge office "Rita" who asked "Why are you pregnant" in a disrespectful way. She also proceeded to ask why weren't you on birth control and you need to have a strong support system. I'm a 22 year old, married nursing student and I know for a fact that you should never ask a patient "why" are they in the condition that they are in, because they will become defensive. I felt very judged and vunerable during this part of my visit. They should be more professional and respectful toward ALL patients.
