feedback about University Medical Center at Brackenridge
This is my experience at University Medical Center. When i walked inside to get my cast removed i noticed how everyone there was upset i asked one and they were saying how long it takes to get their stitches, I looked at the lady again and noticed how she had a huge cut in her arm it should have been a emergency but the staff only cared about waiting times. I just left and went to another medical center DO NOT GO HERE!
For one I was born there. For another my mom had 2 strokes & the staff was wonderful. It was also great that she was able to be wheeled in bed directly to the rehab hospital next door! Super convenient! I'm heartbroken that it's now closed!
Seeing as it is closed i dont think many emergencies will be there
Don't even bother saying anything bad about this place cause here is where I was born. So thank you hospital for giving me life.
What a great place. And for those of you who are criticizing any emergency room need to realize that because of the privacy act, YOU are not privy to what is going on behind the scenes in different rooms. For all you know, the team is working on someone so they won't die. But..imagine that scenario in place of the boo boo on your toe that you have had for 20 years which all of a sudden becomes an emergency? and you have to wait 30 minutes for a Dr. note...get a life. Everyone is just as important as you are if not more at the time of your visit. Emergency rooms are for seriously injured or seriously sick people. If you don't like the wait, go to an urgent care facility. Its ridiculous that people are so demanding on everyone's time when you have no idea what is going on in other rooms. Just because administration at some hospitals advertise to call ahead ...doesn't mean the dynamics of the ER change. Its still triaged...not according to your timed appointment for the EMERGENCY ROOM, (really?...appointments for an emergency? that's only setting your staff up to fail). but for the severity of the patients that come in to be seen. The Drs and the Nurses here are terrific. From a Charity Hospital ER Nurse.
