The One

My father is currently here after under going a triple bypass surgery at the age of 77. He was admitted the week before because of blockages found during an ekg. Every person he came in contact with were excellent and treated him so well all week. He had his surgery Friday April 12,2019 with no complications. Moved him to ICU at around 4:30 pm. He was stable and doing well. Shift change was at 7. This is when two very young RN nurses walked in and told me they would be treating him that night. Knowing this was the most critical time for my dad I was somewhat concerned because they seemed so young. As I watched through that sleepless night as those two angels treated my father with love and compassion bringing him off the breathing machine and working non stop gently bringing him back to the land of the living I knew then that there are angels among us. When he was finally awake and breathing on his own at 7 am Saturday morning. It was time for shift change again. Those two angels came back in to tell him goodbye. He told each one he loved them and I realized he was right what else can you say to someone who just brought you back to life. So Kim and Becca if you read this I love you too. You humbled two old men that night with the care and compassion and tireless treatment you showed through that night. To the facility at UVA medical center. Do whatever you have to do to keep these angels at your facility.

Never received better care in another hospital. Outstanding people! There's not one floor that I've been on they haven't done their best and if they couldn't do the best they found somebody else who could

I can't say enough ,UVA has saved my life, I have never meant a more dedicated group. They always make me feel like a part of the family.

My wife and i chose the uva medical center for the birth of our son! Labor and delivery went perfect! Got to the recovery department on 8 north our day time nurse was Judy Pendleton very dissatisfied with the care my wife and our son received from this nurse! The nurse did not one time use hand sanitizer or wash her hands! Did not use gloves when touching my wife's personal areas, the nurse would cough into her bare hands and touch my new born son who was less then 1 day old! The day time nurse was extreamly rude towards us when our family members were not present! The night time nurse Emma cant remember her last name was very professional and caring towards my wife and our new born son! Very sanitary and understanding of our needs! Because of the experience of the day time nurse we will not be returning to the uva hospital for any type of care whe. It comes to labor and delivery! We have made the decision to give martha jefferson hospital a chance when the time comes for our next child to be born!
