Staff and, hospital best in Albuquerque. Super clean, and the staff is great. My mother had shoulder replacement surgery, which includes a brief stay in the hospital. I have visited numerous hospitals over the years, as a cop, and this is by far the nicest hospital I have ever been in. The staff is a hige part of this. Everyone we encountered was helpful, friendly, and cheerful. If you ever have to choose a hospital to use pick this one.
I love this place. Everyone in 3rd floor ICU was incredible. Cannot say enough good things. Very professional, caring staff. This is the kind of place you feel like you could stop in just to say hi after you're discharged. I noticed several negative reviews and I don't understand why. Absolutely no complaints from me. Maybe the complainers just outnumber the patients who are happy, but who just haven't written reviews yet. Being something of a world traveler, I've been in hospitals everywhere-none better than this place. Great hospital, great staff. Did I say I love this place?
I am so grateful for the excellent ER care I recieved here this week. I had two conditions which were managed very thoughtfully and appropriately. Dr Scott & Dr Brody both took 20-30 min each with me over the course of 8 hours to explain my diagnoses and answer all my questions with very good bedside manner. The nurses listened well and helped a lot, even though the entire place was very busy. The ER was clean and comfortable with very nice, very private rooms. I would highly recommend choosing UNM Sandoval Regional if you have an ER choice. -Julie Blossom DVM
I can’t remeber what physician I seen tonight but she has the worse bedside manners. She complained that I was seen a lot in the past week in the ERs. If she knew how read correctly, she would see I was seen for seizures and tonight was a different issue. They tell you when your issues get worse to come back. I did just that and she tells me there’s nothing she can do and sent me home. I didn’t think it was safe to send someone home that continually vomits and can’t keep foods or liquids down and severe stomach pain. She didn’t even bother checking me out. With her sh!tty attitude, we left. I hope to never to see that non-educated, no compassion joke of a doctor.
It’s a crapshoot. Some things are good like the Sleep lab is 5 stars, anesthesiology is top notch and above unm main. I got a blood patch at Sandoval after a botched lumbar puncture at unm main interventional radiology.. They helped me out of 3 days of agony unm interventional radiologist Danielle Sorte MD put me in. Some of the old BCMC aka UNM Hospital stuff is creeping in. Some good experiences in the ER. Some problems like GI procedures are not well explained afterwards. Confusing handouts that are not patient specific and have instructions that do not apply and could be harmful. Anesthesia is the best there with respecting a patient’s previous medical history and the skill of being able to a blood patch in one try where others had fai,ed. Hope they don’t slip all the way down. Housekeeping and some great nurses keep it super clean.
Thought that the rehab department would be ok. I’ve since canceled all my appointments at Sandoval for everything. The do speech, pt and OT there. OT was a great problem solver.
Things that are good. Housekeeper keeps things very clean, there is a guard or someone at the door to greet people and help direct them. Sleep lab and anesthesia are top ‘notch.
Bad things people seem to be slipping into the old BCMC ways of days past. They treat patients in an unprofessional and unkind manner. These are the people with allied medical degrees. My current concern is for what they term the rehab department. But it’s not my problem anymore as I willnot be returning to Sandoval for anythimg! The broke my trust completely
