Was given the 1 minute finger while the employee was on the phone. Handling what I can only assume was personal business. Very very unprofessional. She threatened who ever she was on the phone with. I think you need a better process in place to make sure employees handle their business during personal time not company time

I was happy to receive treatment for a recent bout of acute appendicitis at this world class facility. The wait time in the ER was longer than expected, but reasonable considering how busy the facility was. I’d like to thank my entire treatment team, Dr. Naman, and the 6th floor for making my stay a pleasant surprise. I usually don’t like hospitals, but my treatment team went out of their way to make my stay as comfortable as possible.

Liner Feb. 22 2019, I too k my grandson there because he got cut and needed stitches in my on his hand, We waited at 1 hour before because ng called back for treatment. When we got in the back we we're walking down a hallway when the nurse stopped and n the middle of the hallway where a gurney was sitting "they put him up on it and said the Dr. Would be back to see him". As we we're no more than 20ft. From a room where custodians we're wheeling carts of garbage into. And patients were walking past to get tests done, the Dr. Came back with a make shift cart and proceeded to put his hand on and stitch it up.patients kept walking by staring at what was going on. And custodians we're still going too n to the same room with carts of garbage. My grandson was beside himself. This was his first experience with getting stitches. I still can't believe this happened this way. I have taking my pets to veterinarian hospitals where they gave my pets more consideration than this hospital gave my grandson. This is despicable they way he was treated. No one should ever be treated this way. I will never ever return to this place

This place is horrible to be seen in the Er. I will never come back here ever again! I read through the reviews and most of the reviews are negative statements on your ER? When are you guys going to fix the peoblem?

My son was sent to ER at UPMC East by MedExpress lately one Thursday. I thought UPMC’s ER would be high above average but left there feeling it was below average after he was given a very brief talk by a PA and then prescribed oxycodone pain and ondansetron. I took him to his PCP the following day and he ordered blood tests and an ultrasound. After seeing the test results, the PCP called my son late Saturday night and urged him to go back to the ER. This time, UPMC East admitted him and he had surgery to remove gallbladder. The surgeon said the gallbladder was significantly inflamed. I wonder if the ER doctor saw that the AST and ALT levels were more than 11 times higher than the normal range when my son first went there to be diagnosed?

In-patient care was good especially the detailed explanation that was given by a coordinating nurse since we didn’t know exactly what kind of test would be done and for what purpose. It relieved a lot of stress and anxiety caused by our lack of specific knowledge of the gallbladder and its functions in the human body.
