Thank you to the Dr that seen me in the Er .my pain is real. I came in to make sure it was not a blood clot.sorry to have wasted your time. I have been going to the,VA for 40 years off and on. The staff has greatly improved but the Dr. still make you feel like your wasting their time

Two stars because the staff working directly with patients genuinely care about the quality of service they are able to provide. Unfortunately, the Roseburg VA "system" is unable to meet either staff or patient needs because this VISN 20 "hospital" lies to the public about the poor conditions present and its abject failure to remedy solutions. Staff members who rightfully complained about the appalling conditions were and are summarily treated to open retaliation, hostility, maltreatment and wrongful termination. Despite attempted interventions by Peter Defazio and subsequent "investigations" and the removal of several offending supervisors, including the director Doug Paxton, the VA continues with its whitewashing of issues. In my last conversation with the new acting director David Whitmer regarding possible solutions for affected persons, in his own words - "I'm not here to change decisions made by the previous administration". In a nutshell, the Federal government has failed to protect its Douglas County Veterans and the staff who serve them by doing nothing but moving its pieces. As long as this VA hospital fails to right its wrongs I can easily imagine it will remain at the bottom of the list for employee satisfaction which directly impacts patient services.

Worst State for trying to get enrolled into the VA Healthcare system. Way under staffed and takes days to get a call back. I now understand why there are so many Vets willing to commit suicide, I have considered it as well.

I'm very impressed with the Roseburg VA medical center. I was passing through town and stopped by the urgent care. It took me less than an hour from the time I walked in to enroll, be seen by a doctor, and pick up my prescription. All of the staff and doctor were incredibly helpful, professional, and kind.

Shipping and Receiving is terrible. Everyone has an attuide there (worst). On the other hand, you can't judge the entire VA in Roseburg because 1 department is terrible. I'm sure to that the other departments are much more responsible.
