Absolutely the most horrible and worst experience i've ever had with an ER. The only person who was half way decent and understanding was the security guard who asked us to leave after we asked for the patient policy. We drove an hour and half to see my sister and they were very rude and condescending when we asked if we could see her. Was told a doctor would talk to us. Never saw a doctor. Only had nurses come up to us and ask why we were there. Could not give a time of when we would be able to speak with our sister. Showed no compassion in any form to us. Acted as if we were an annoyance and bothering them because we are concerned for a family member that we have no idea of why they were brought into the ER. When we first arrived the nurse laughed when I asked to see her and said she'd be here awhile, didnt know how long and told us to go home. Then said we could wait as long as we wanted and then told us we were a disturbance and made us leave. Very unprofessional . We still have no idea on the status of our loved one. Go to any other hospital but do not go to this one. They do not care about the patient or the patient family.
Sarah (phlebotomist in the lab) is excellent. The guy is horrible. Several of the Day Surgery nurses are very skillful, as well. Radiology leaves alot to be desired, primarily because its scheduling apparently is done through NWM and some equipment may be outdated. On one scan the tech could not produce a disc of it. Radiology scheduling originally scheduled a test on a day it could not be done and gave incorrect information regarding another scan. Scheduling handled by Valley West itself is very helpful and accommodating, however. Patients are treated like people, not numbers. More personal touch than larger hospitals.
I did not want to give a rating, since some aspects are worthy of 5 stars; others are very much not. However, one must rate to be able to post.
To who it may concern.i came to sandwich hospital with a broke down wheelchair.i have no legs so I use it allot ..my wheels wore the tread off .anyway .your people ordered me new tires at no cost.im just so thankful that they cared to help.thank u.....
ER doctor is not very friendly. He acted like we were bothering him.
My husband has been in the hospital twice and received awesome care from both the doctor and the staff. Nurses are outstanding! But the reason for the 3 stars is my husband had a relapse and started to run a high fever. Dr wanted a urine sample sent to the lab for testing. Well, it’s Sunday and the lab is closed. Really? Are people not supposed to get sick on Sunday? Dr had to get someone from the ER to perform the testing and it took hrs. Ridiculous that the only hospital in the area has a lab shut down on weekends.
