I think this place can be hit or miss depending on the staff. I was at wahiawa General for about 4 hours in the ER with an ovarian cyst and they sure did everything they could to make me most uncomfortable. My Iv fluids ran out and no one came to replenish it so I bled all over myself and the sheets, I was still in a lot of pain and very nauseous but was never offered anything more for it, they told me they were coming to do a pelvic exam and to undress from the waist down but they didn’t come to do the exam until 3.5 hrs later so I was sitting in my bed feeling very exposed and uncomfortable for hours. Then, this was the cherry on top, after the pelvic exam they told me I could get dressed so i threw the covers off, and was about to start getting dressed when a male nurse walks in WITHOUT KNOCKING and leaves the curtains open behind him so I scramble to cover myself up and he laughs and says “it’s okay.” Actually, it’s definitely NOT okay!!! I was so upset at this point, my privacy was already reduced to just about nothing and he took whatever privacy I had left in that hospital so I began to sob and told him to get out of my room. I am a young woman without any children so maintaining my right to privacy as a patient is very important to me and this experience has really taken an emotional toll on me.
