Had to get blood drawn. Everyone was very efficient! I was in and out. Front desk encounter was very pleasant and helpful. Phlebotomist was fantastic! Place was a bit of a mess with the construction but overall great experience this time.
I gave 2 stars in consideration to the kindness given by some of the staff - but I didn't go to the hospital because I needed someone to be kind to me. I checked into the ER due to severe bleeding. I was seen by Dr. Barry who told me during our first conversation that he would need to perform a certain procedure to evaluate and attempt to stop the bleeding. He also requested certain instruments from the RN on duty for said procedure and stated an ultrasound technician would need to be called since this hospital doesn't staff such specialists overnight. He exited the room without conducting any procedures - instead blood work was drawn and a bracelet placed on my wrist in the event that I would require a blood transfusion. I laid in a bed for 2 hours bleeding and not one staff member offered a change of sheets or pads and based on their expertise (or lack of) never given intravenous fluids to compensate for any fluids I had lost. Finally at 5 am, after asking the nurse how much longer before the ultrasound - they finally decided to page the on call technician. At 6 am I was finally brought into ultrasound and informed by the technician that she had just received the page at 5 and came as quickly as she could - 2 hours after my initial admittance. At 7:30 am I had to request my results since once again no one bothered to do their job. I never saw Dr. Barry again due to the shift change. The morning staff was more lively and helpful. Thank you Richard and Joanne for your empathy, concern and diligence in your roles. Based on the information obtained from Dr. Barry, the morning ER physician conducted a quick check over and I was then discharged. Nothing was given nor done to stop the bleeding and on my way I went. Three hours later I wound up at Lehigh Valley after experiencing a near fainting episode due to lack of oxygen resulting from severe dehydration and blood loss. It is my opinion that this hospital is here simply as a last resort measure. Their equipment as well as the competency and level of knowledge by some of their doctors are both outdated. It is because of experiences such as these that some people refuse to be seen by doctors, unfortunately allowing health conditions to worsen while going undiagnosed. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone, sadly. If you value your health and are looking to be seen by and treated with respect and professionalism by knowledgeable medical professionals - this is not the place for you.
This is by far the worst place ever. I would definitely recommend the drive to Moses Taylor or Bon Secours! Never again! New trama center's a joke!
Wasn't a big fan of the hospital itself but their maternity ward: absolutely phenomenal. The nurses were absolutely wonderful and I always felt relaxed and safe while there. They helped me through both of my deliveries with my girls and were super supportive during those times. I absolutely loved their maternity ward.
There are not enough words to say THANK YOU! I brought my son here on Saturday night for stomach pain, he ended up admitted. Sunday morning he was already prepped for surgery. Everything went beautifully. He was discharged this morning. I am so impressed by the efficiency and caring the staff and Doctors showed. This hospital is a real family/friendly environment. I am so pleased with there service from beginning to end. This type of level of care is unheard of especially from a New Yorker like myself. My son was treated like a king, and I was treated with lots of encouragement.
Many thanks to the Staff of the 4th floor and to my sons Er Doc and also his treating Doctor Ms Medvetz.
Many blessings to all!
