Got referred by urgent care to come to this E.R. because there facility was not equipped with the procedure that needed to be done. Been waiting over 4hrs to be seen. For a big hospital the E.R. I feel is not fully staffed and the lobby is filthy. Feels like I went to east L.A. it's funny How they run you're insurance do the quick intake give you a bracelet with your name. And can't even give you anything for the excruciating pain ur in after asking on a scale of 1 to 10. I said 10

My Mom is currently admitted, and has no history in the area since we just moved. Most has been at Methodist, and though this info has been given on numerous occasions to staff, there has been no orders to get most recent records! MDs might find some useful information, especially if we are looking at a surgical plan in the near future. I generally have to be the one to initiate any calls for updates, which is fine, but have yet to meet any of the physicians that have made rounds, and may find communication more effective and direct even if a patient is coherent. I really don’t want to transfer unless necessary because she is no longer able to walk. Working with patients myself, I’m a bit perplexed, but giving the benefit of the doubt that they are running all tests needed since she is completely new to them. I just pray they look to gather any and all information, develop a good plan in a reasonable time frame and keep her comfortable in the meantime, and have effective communication amongst all staff there. This is a precious life, and hoping for great results!!! Nursing staff, for the most part, has been okay, though tonight I was questioned with some disregard at first, but face to face encounter helped a bit. Just want the absolute best outcome!

11/04/18: Just left the ER. Dr Robert Shapiro MD is an excellent, caring, and friendly Dr. The entire staff was in a great mood. It looked like they enjoyed working with Dr Shapiro. From the sweet and pretty lady that checked me in at 8:15am, to the lovely and sweet Sheri (Nurse 2:30pm), everyone was awesome. I must also mention the gentleman that weighed me and took all my information. He was polite, professional and efficient. And lastly, the lady that took the CAT scan and Xray was super nice also. As I was in my ER room, I overheard the staff constantly checking on patients and thier visitors to make sure they were ok by offering something to drink. "One happy patient will tell 200." Happy Holidays! 😄
