feedback about Winchester Hospital
Worst Emergency Dept I’ve ever been to. I’m not certain they know the meaning of “emergency.” Whether arriving by ambulance or car, the only consistent service I’ve ever received is lack of service, lack of consistent procedures, misdiagnosis and being given the same useless excuse for lack of caring: we are busy. I’ve been to busier and larger capacity city hospitals with more efficient service and quality of care. I really want to have this as my local go to facility, but I simply just can’t risk it. It’s too bad.
I should start by mentioning I'm on the spectrum and I've had a lot of bad hospital experiences. I am not a cooperative easy patient because hospitals make me very agitated. This is partially cause I've had so many bad experiences with medical professionals. Out of the five or so hospitals I've been to MA and 2 in CT, Winchester is my favorite. The level of patience and kindness I've received is really incredible. My 2nd baby was born there, I've been through their ER, and I've had an ultrasound and a CT scan.
Yesterday I had to call an ambulance for my daughter who was having a difficult time breathing... long story short... the ambulance came and brought my daughter to the hospital (4 stars due to fire fighter who had an attitude in regards to which hospital my daughter would be transported to... he was sarcastic with his response as far as where my daughter would be transported... he could have had more compassion about the situation).
The care provided to my daughter was great and timely. The showed concern and provided the support we both needed. Dr. Fleegler is a great pediatric doctor and provided the best care and made sure my daughter wasn’t scared. Praying this situation will never happen again... but so glad we were in good hands ❤️
Was brought in for medical emergency. After leaving bank got in accident. Nurses stole paperwork containing account info and property info which they used to wipe my accounts and transfer ownership of property. Then billed insurance for surgeries I needed. Charged me and then gave the surgeries to someone else. And then refused to reimburse. Then I woke up and they were in the process of taking blood and getting ready to take a kidney.
We were received quite expeditiously, IV'd by a very skilled nurse. Stayed there for the better part of my day. They do have a CT, but not MRI. We were offered an alternative to be transported up to Lahy. Wasn't seen/treated by a doctor, only by an NP, who attempted to do my spinal tap (in the absence of an MRI), and failed - providing me with a 'wonderful' 20min of misery. This is my 4th or 5th trip to Win ER, and it's always been good service, but mediocre skill-set/capability. Always falls short for one reason or another. From now on, only simple things in Win, otherwise - we'll go to Lahey.
