feedback about Winchester Hospital
Yesterday I had to call an ambulance for my daughter who was having a difficult time breathing... long story short... the ambulance came and brought my daughter to the hospital (4 stars due to fire fighter who had an attitude in regards to which hospital my daughter would be transported to... he was sarcastic with his response as far as where my daughter would be transported... he could have had more compassion about the situation).
The care provided to my daughter was great and timely. The showed concern and provided the support we both needed. Dr. Fleegler is a great pediatric doctor and provided the best care and made sure my daughter wasn’t scared. Praying this situation will never happen again... but so glad we were in good hands ❤️
Was admitted 10/29/2018, had my appendix removed late that same night. I was triaged quickly and saw a doctor and had tests ordered almost immediately. ALL the staff, in every department I went through from the ER to an ultrasound, to a cat scan to the OR ( the surgeon ROCKED) and on to the floor after surgery were FABULOUS. Everyone was friendly and tried to keep things light while still doing their jobs impeccably. There was a lot of light laughter and conversation, just enough for comfort and reassurance. Pain medication was issued swiftly when I needed it.
The staff made a stressful and unpleasant situation so much better.
Doctor said I should get medicine for pain. 3 hours later nothing. Asked nurse and they said I don't know and never hear back. The person who claimed was my nurse never came back. I asked for water 1 hour later still no water. Doctor came 3 hours later and was like did you get your CT scan? I said no and doctor asked the nurses then I got my CT scan. Doctor said I will be out of here in 2 hours. 3 hours later still here. Asked a nurse and was told I don't know. Horrible. Additionally, I saw the nurse in ER watching TV on the computer while I am still waiting for response on my medications.
I brought my father there for pain on 01/07/2019. The pain was severe and to the point where he could not remember who he was when we first brought him in. We came in at 9:00 p.m. and did not meet the doctor until after 11:30 p.m. and we were left waiting just as long for CT scan results. Only at 4 a.m. after simple tests did we have any sort of a resolution. Walking around the Emergency Room I got the clear sense many of those working there were more interested in their social circle than the patients who needed help.
During this visit I also observed bathrooms that were not cleaned during the course of the visit, including the Emergency Rooms patient bathroom which had a gentlemen’s pair of dirty poop filled underpants in the top of the trash. This is a hospital, not a truck stop, I expect a sanitary bathroom. If the bathroom is not sanitary, how can I trust the rest of your facility is?
Winchester Hospital, please do better. My family have been patients for 20+ years, I was born at this hospital, it’s a shame to see what you’ve let it become.
Pediatrician in ER was A+. She sewed up my son's split lip. We were admitted within 15 min of arriving. Better option in the area than the scary Melrose-Wakefield alternative...
