Well I wish I could say my friend and I had a good experience in the ER. Let’s just say if I was half dead I would make them take me to a different hospital. I was very worried about my close friend she was disoriented, weak and her limbs where swollen.
She has suffered tons of trauma in her life. She suffers from Schizoaffective disorder, narcolepsy it has severe debilitating anxiety and countless other host of problems. She is a mother and one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met my life honestly I don’t know how she lives day today she’s a marvel if you ask me She has never used any type of IV drugs I know this for a fact they treated her like an IV drug user the nurses were very rude they will put an IV in her arm and never return for two hours. There was one doctor from Kenya who seem like she She actually cared to see my close friend break down in absolute tears of shame was an awful sight I’m sure they deal with a lot. But to see an entire hospital staff attack a young lady who has never done anything like that was absolutely uncalled, for and the most unprofessional situation and hospital staff I have ever encountered this is just a review I am going to email and call everybody that I can until I reach somebody that matters. It took me an hour and a half to get her to calm down after we left the hospital AMA I wish I could post pictures of how this nurse put an IV in her arm it is so bruised it almost looks like the vein is collapsed I am disgusted with the staff from the time we walked in until the time we walked out Akron general is a world where noun hospital I will not stop until somebody addresses the situation that happened today. My elderly father went to the emergency after passing blood in his urine. They sent him home with a uti told him to come back if the condition worsened. 2days later he had clots in his urine and returned at 4pm. It is now 1036pm and he still has not seen a doctor yet. This is not the first time. It is a shame I live 6+hrs away and could have driven there faster than they attend to there patients in need of medical attention. This is not where you want to go if you have something serious going on. There is no excuse for a hospital, any hospital to be this grossly understaffed or inept at providing emergency care. He is still "waiting in line" like he is buying meat at the butcher. I'm so kissed right now. The staff should be thankful I am not there. I will be calling the administration in the morning to file a complaint as this is a violation. If you are unable to provide effective adequate medical care in a timely fashion then you do not need to be a hospital designed as a "emergency" care facility.

I feared not making it out alive of this hospital because of how understaffed and negligent they were at my hospitalization of about 6 days after surgery. And they took way too long to address each issue going on or even forgot to multiple times. There were some good Drs. & nurses but the bad definitely outweighed the good. And they weren't all very nice, some of the nurses had terrible bedside manner and you could tell they lacked the empathy and patience that a nursing job requires. There were several staff members who made excuses about the ridiculous amount of time it took to get anything done and mentioned about how they were understaffed and people kept calling off. So they had too many patients for each person and weren't keeping up with their jobs properly. Just unacceptable when people's lives are on the line... I agree with the other post where they said don't come to this hospital for anything serious if you care about your life or your loved ones lives. Very scary experience! I even spoke to the patient advocate and nothing changed.
