feedback about Camden Clark Medical Center
Entered the Emergency Room on a Saturday evening with lower chest pains. The staff was friendly, helpful and very professional. They immediately got me to an observation room
and started a long line of tests and procedures. Surprisingly my lower chest pains were caused by my appendix. Yes, the appendix is located on the lower right side of the abdominal area, but for some reason I felt no pain there.
Anyway, long story short, a few hours later the inflamed organ was removed and I felt great.
Once again I can’t say enough good things about the folks here at Camden Clark. Wish there was a way to rate them well beyond 5 Stars.
My Daughter in law recently had my grand daughter at this hospital. The night shift nurses were too busy on their phones to even give her a pain pill for her C section and when she would try to call a nurse and ask for something they replied with “do it yourself!” Really?? This is a hospital!! Not Junior high!!! Very unprofessional and when I was in the ER I was deathly sick and treated like a piece of trash told nothing was wrong and had to drive 2 hours to find out what really was wrong!! The nurse told me I couldn’t stand up and bend over which was the only way I could be and ease some of the pain away! She constantly yelled at me! Come to find out I was passing 2 kidney stones, had a kidney infection and gallstones! But according to this facility nothing was wrong! Nice work 🙄
I would have given a negative start if possible. My brother was at the ER twice. No feeling in his ankle or foot. He couldn't move the ankle or foot but had severe pain running up his leg. They ran some blood work, said they didn't know what was wrong and sent him home. We took him to Columbus where they kept him and although we are still waiting for a diagnosis, they are letting him until they find an answer. I'm just appalled that a hospital would send someone home with obvious issues.
I completely understand that ALL patients receive the necessary treatment provided by the emergency room staff. I also understand the “first come, first serve” treatment and that we should “wait our turn”. I’m concerned with the level of treatment that a patient should be processed through. I feel a patient that has “foreign object” lodged in there eyeball (possibly causing permanent eye damage) should be a higher priority than a person with the typical symptoms of a cold. Common sense should play a role when it pertains to providing a higher priority level of care a patient is required rather than a system of first come, first served. The answer lies between either providing multiple doctors, each focused on specified areas of medical needs or continue the trend of providing 1 doctor on duty at a time. Seems as though a emergency room staffing multiple doctors would be the logical choice, but again...it’s Camden Clark Memorial Hospital!
I don’t even know where to start! First of all if you can get to Marietta or the Belpre ER, please go there! I have never had a good experience at this hospital. And do not understand how sooo much money was invested in this place, yet there is NO parking for same day procedures and the “free valet” stops at 2pm. So I had to drop my daughter off, drive around the hospital to park in the rear of the parking lot, walk all the way through the hospital and they wouldn’t take her until I got back:( Frustrating at best. I lived in Denver for many years and their level of care and ease of access to the hospitals was top notch!
