I took my then 2 yr old to Woodwinds ER in September 2017. At the time, I remember thinking it was a good experience. The staff was prompt and professional and they treated her appropriately based on test results and what I had told them about medical history. I believe his name was Dr. Nicholls. That is why I am giving 2 stars.
We were in MN at the time staying with family due to being evacuated from hurricane Irma in FL. I remember being very specific about providing her insurance info and my contact info because I didn't want any billing issues. Since we were out of our home state, I knew a small MN hospital probably had never dealt with a FL Medicaid HMO. After we returned home, I got a physician bill in the mail from Emergency Care Consultants, PA in October. I was a little annoyed because I had made sure they had all our correct insurance info. But I realize mistakes happen so I called and provided the info again and made 2 follow up phone calls in November and December to confirm the bill was being submitted correctly. After that, I never received any additional bills or communication from the hospital or any of its subsidiaries. I assumed (my bad, never assume!) billing had gone as it should.
Fast forward to January 2019. Today I got a phone call from a collection agency that I am in collections from Health East for an overdue bill from Woodwinds Hospital. This is the facility bill, not the physician bill that I got in the mail one month after the visit. I am I total shock. I never once received any type of communication from the hospital about this bill. No bill, no phone call, no letter, nothing. I was told by my insurance company that they did receive a claim from Health East but that it was invalid or incomplete but there was never any follow up. I cannot begin to understand how Health East felt it was proper to never once contact the guarantor and send the bill to collections. It is absurd.
I've left messages today for a manager in billing (according to the person who answered the hospital main line). I will update this review if and when I hear back from anyone.
**update 1/11, call back from apologetic staff, they are looking into it.
***update 1/16, staff at Woodwinds has been diligent in following up with me and the collections agency. Collection is being removed. Still not certain as to how this happened but they are actively resolving the problem.
My mother had a scheduled hip replacement. Everything went according to plan and was over a wonderful experience! The surgeon from Summit Orthopedic was amazing, the nurses from the hospital were spot on! So caring and there when you need them and even when you didn’t! Everything was clean and organized and would recommend woodwinds to anyone! Thank you staff for taking such great care of my mom!
Just had our second son here. Our nurses were as good as 2yrs ago. Karen RN checked us in and got us comfortable while my wife is in labor, she was the one helping deliver our first son. This time around Teresa RN did an excellent job and Doctor less was very good as always. Thank you to all the nurses and lactation specialist. Extra thank you to Melissa RN.
ER experience was top shelf. Was in ICU for 7 days with the worst experience I've ever had being hospitalized. Nursing staff were not on the same page during shift changes. I saw housekeeping 2 out of the 7 days I was there. Needs attention & improvements.
Worst Labor experience ever ! I had some permanent damages due to wrong injection given to me while in labor. Four years after the incident the memories still haunt me. My story is too big to write here but I had one terrible experience with C section here. Avoid at all cost !
