Howard Young Medical Ctr

Former Howard Young president Sandy Anderson and NP Teri Bruss went out of their way on two different occasions to find me a surgeon. On two occasions, I had serious medical issues demanding a neurologist and orthopedic surgeon. Thanks to these two professionals, I am doing very well. Howard Young is a HUGE asset for Minocqua and the Northwoods. My hope is that Ascension takes good care of this wonderful hospital with such an amazing history. Thank you everyone at Ascension Howard Young!

Went to Howard Young for a total hip replacement about three weeks ago and received the best medical care I have ever experienced. Having had several surgeries over the years at different hospitals, I can honestly say this was the most caring, professional treatment ...and I am very thankful. Needed to stay three nights and had consistent, excellent care from all of the staff - medical, PT, OT and beyond ...and, the food was very good - amazing. I thank everyone who so thoughtfully assisted in my recovery.

If i could give zero stars i would but i want to warn people not to go here. Drive to wausau and go to that hospital if you can help it. 5 hrs at the er. 4 in the waiting room with about 30 other people. People sitting on the floor or standing. No one being taken back just piling up. After 4 hrs we were taken back just to sit in a room for another hr. No doctor! Asked the desk nurse who was texting her boyfriend if we were going to be seen. " were real busy right now" was the response. We checked our self's out after 5 hrs and never saw a doctor. The didnt even ask for insurance so i bet the bill will be a 1000 bucks for a blanket and bad tv. GO TO WAUSAU. unless your going to die the hr trip will save you time and care for your loved one. Zero star clown show!

HELP!!! I've been trying to get in touch with anyone to help with a billing issue (I'm a Veteran) and keep getting sent to an outfit in Michigan who are all rude and not willing to help. They advised me to drive all the way to the Tomah VA center (8hrs round trip) because I needed to get an authorization, number in person. I said this was crazy but they claimed this was the only way or I would be responsible for the bill. There has not been one single person willing to help me in the Woodruff location and I have absolutely no idea where to turn to at this point. Howard Young Medical Center is a terribly run outfit that is more like a corporate entity than a health care provider. Does anyone really care about a fellow human being anymore? I spoke to well over a dozen people today and not a single one was able to help or get me in touch with a person who could. I'm scared to death that my children might require medical attention some day and Howard Young is the only one around, for now.

Appointment with Amy Gavin NP recently. Excellent listener, treated myself and my wife as partners in health care. We could not advance on her recommendations due to conflicts with VA requirements. A definite asset to Howard Young. ER check in desk, ER staff we encountered were all professional, patient, and attentive. Kudos. Ms. Gavin's ancillary staff were also courteous, and attentive. Kudos.
