I have had all positive experiences with my care providers here. On multiple occasions, they have gone above and beyond to make sure I received great care. I particularly want to thank Erin in Pharmacy for making multiple calls to my doctor and community care pharmacy to solve an issue with my medications. She was compassionate and prompt. She relieved an enormous amount of stress for me. I’m very grateful for the people at the Milwaukee VA.

I live in Texas now but I definitely miss this VA! I used the Milwaukee VA from 2009 until the end of 2012 and they were always great (especially since I can now compare it to another VA). I had my appendix rupture one night and went to the ER. Ended up having surgery on my birthday and some cooks from downstairs as well as the nurses came up with a mini-cake and sang me happy birthday! Another time when I came upon hard times, the VA gave me money for my rent because I told my Doctor I was struggling at the moment. They brought me downstairs to this room and I gave them my ID card and told them some information and they gave me cash for my rent. I was more than grateful and I will never forget it. Also my Doctors would always actually listen to me and hear me out, whether it involved medication, treatment, diagnosis, whatever. I wish I could say the same for the VA that I go to here in Texas (although it's getting better). Those are just a few great memories. I have many! Everyone was nice there, especially the nurses. I definitely miss this VA. Much respect to the people there that make it wonderful and a positive experience.

The VA is one of the worst hospitals in Milwaukee I would say on the same level as st. Joseph's. The staff is extremely rude, I never in my life experienced the Level of unprofessionalism this hospital has. The nurses are extremely rude they walk around like their mad at the world. I had to complain to patient advocacy twice, I doubt they did anything. I called the director of the hospital after being refused a appointment and his secretary hurry up and directed me back to patient advocacy so I couldn't talk to him. Their getting paid top dollar to treat veterans but treat them like shit. I have not encountered not one genuine nice person at that hospital. And when I am seen and describe my symptoms they don't do shit to help. THE WORST FUCKING HOSPITAL AROUND. THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED AT HOW THEY TREAT THEIR FUCKING VETERANS. WE PUT OUR LIFE ON THE LINE FOR PEOPLE LIKE THEM JUST TO GET TREATED LIKE A NUISANCE. ITS RIDICULOUS.

I have experienced medical care outside of the V A .... It appears to me that the government is trying to put 20 pounds of need in a 10 pound bag. VA Medical benifits are prepaid medical insurances...They are benifits based on Services previously performed...
They are not a handout...And, should be comparable to any of the other higher quality services available in the country we served...
The VA needs to fight for veterans rights, not administer and limit Veterans care. MANY VETERANS, I've talked to, hold other insurances because the care they require cannot be given or the wait is to long for the treatment they need, etc. Why should a veteran need to travel vast distances to be treated, when there are many facilities available where they live....Its the cost !!!
Experimental and Student "only" sevices are not the norm for medical treatments in OUR country...
The VA needs, Our prayers, the guidance from the Holy Spirit, and to stand up for, represent, and be the voice of the 23,000,000 voters and veterans in our country...NOT DO, WHAT THEY ARE TOLD...don't forget to thumbs up if you like the review

VA medicine gets lots of bad press. I've had only good experiences here with both my regular physician and the specialty clinics. VA took me through cancer treatments and has continued with follow up care both here and in North Carolina.
