My brother was brought into the ER, with difficultly breathing. Three hours later was dismissed. As we were leaving the lobby, he started all over again. It took forever for him to be seeing by a nurse and four hours later he’s told he had pneumonia. 24 hours later since he was admited still no antibiotics. Had to ask for breakfast, lunch, and at dinner time, “oh you didn’t get dinner, kitchen closed already” so they gave him a sandwich.
They think they did a great thing by adding “Hackensack” to its name. Both places, Palisades and Hackensack are filthy dirty, and most of the staff is very nasty. The reason for the one star is my praise for Nicole, the beautiful young girl in the ER that really tried to make my brother as comfortable as she could. When growing up I used to hear my mom say “if you want to live do not check into Palisades General, patients that do, leave in a box”
Unfortunately, a lot of this is lack of training and the fact that the insurance companies in NJ are the worst because of our Democratic Party.
If I can give zero stars I would .
If that’s called the “emergency room”
It’s supposed to give you good attention
I went there with my friend who is pregnant and needed special Attention
Went there at 11:30am . Just waiting for results
And nothing came out
I mean!!!! where in the world the results take sooo long
They think you don’t have a life , you don’t get hungry or you don’t have. Job
It doesn’t matter what time you get there
Even if the emergency room is empty
Seems like they’re all chilling and not worrying about anything At all!!!
You have to constantly remind them you are there , basically you have to be mad and go crazy for them to really pay attention to you.
Terrible service at this hospital. This is in no way reflective of their doctors. Rather it's reflective of their billing. I've spent over 10 hours dealing with bills. Firstly, despite me giving my insurance information twice, they decide to not to process it. I had to make 4 phone calls in order to remedy this (because of course there are 4 separate bills associated with my one visit..... this isn't the hospital's fault but rather the horrendous medical system's fault). Then once I get this fixed... there were 3 separate problems with me paying it. This last one, I've called the billing office repetitively to fix this. My insurance says they are billing me less, and the hospital disagrees with them. My insurance won't spend the time to fight with the hospital and therefore I have to pay the difference. Meanwhile hours I can call these guys are in the middle of the day. Since I work and it costs me money to spend time on the phone, it's wasting my time and money in more ways than one. Please stay away from this hospital and billing system, it's inefficient with workers who are either incompetent, who just don't care or aren't paid enough to care. But as a consumer we can't really do anything about it, who can shop around when you have a medical emergency... even if it's an in network hospital.
I drove one hour to see my brother and his new born daughter. The men at the lobby were ridiculous! Yes visiting hours were over but if they wanted to they could have let me in. I told them I would take no longer than 10 minutes and they said that’s what the other person just said. I’m not the other person. If I exceed 10 minutes, simple, you can come and ask me to leave. Attitude they had was vile! I will make sure to tell many people to go to a different hospital!
The worse place in the world! Do Not come here! There is not sense of urgency or humanity , people don’t seem to care, too many employees walking around doing nothing and taking forever acting like they are doing paperwork just killing time( and I guess killing people too). Asian lady at front desk had an attitude with both associates and employees, the African American lady next to her taking vital signs is the only one who hasn’t stopped working, she is good, but one good person against an entire screwed up system it’s not good enough. There are more security officers than doctors. Only two doctors and one learning their new system so only one doctor. I have been here for over 2 hours and he has gotten of the chair to actually see customers once. I guess he helps people remotely from the desktop.
This is embarrassing, shaming, inhuman.
I will make sure everyone knows about this. I am writing a letter to newspapers, local news, BBB compaint now. I just did Twitter and Facebook.
