Very slow they take walk ins before those that come in ambulance I couldn't walk was having kidney stones and they totally treated me like dirt. When I asked the reason they didn't want to explain and when I was on the phone with my other half expressing my dissatisfaction they called security and lied and told them I was swearing and making trouble and going up to the desk and even another woman in the Waiting room said i wasn't they wouldn't hear me out. UH was a much more pleasant place when it was Robinson
Was there for my dad, I got there at 4 and we didnt see a doctor till 8!!!! We asked to talk to someone not 1 time but 3 different times. That is ridiculous, if they would of at least came to talk to us and give us something for a little piece of mind would of went a long way. But no and when we did get someone they were completely unprofessional and to top it off he went to the wrong room!!! Discuss stuff with another patient about my dad!!! I would never recommend going there! Especially if they are that incompetent to make sure they are even talking to the right patient
6hrs after leaving ER and getting a room. We have yet to see a doctor.. our nurse is making her hourly rounds every 2 hours. Maybe that's protocol i dont know despite asking our patient care assistant 3times in almost 2hrs to see a nurse or doctor or anyone who can tell us anything.... unless ur unconscious or bleeding out. Go somewhere else....
My family has had 3 encounters with Portage Medical Center and all 3 truly amazed me. The first two visits were for my husband and both were for hip dislocation. The staff members were excellent! He was back home with in a few hours with no complications. He was able to go about his normal day after each trip. On a third occasion of dislocating his hip, he was in a neighboring city and had to go to one of hospitals in the city, it was a horrible experience that took a few days for him to come back to his normal self.
My third visit to Portage Medical Center was with my mother to get a cortisone injection. From Admin to discharge, I was very impressed by their service to their patients and to the family waiting. During this procedure, one of the nurses started to talk to her about shooting pool. When the doctor said they were done, she hadn't felt a thing. They seen her fear, and handled it perfectly.
I want to thank all of the staff at Portage Medical Center for the care that they have shown to my family.
The doctor was very good, removed a kidney stone. Nurses before and after the procedure were great. They were extremely attentive and always asking if I needed anything and kept me informed of the time as the doctor was behind. The person doing the anesthetic was letting me know about the procedure they would be doing. Have not gotten bill, but I am sure the price is the same as it would be at every other hospital.
