I met the smartest doctor in the emergency room at University of Minnesota Medical Center. Dr. Crosby was her name. She is very intelligent and serious about caring for human beings. I'd give her ten stars if I could. She is saving lives! ❤

This is our second visit here and we were hoping it would go better. In March 2019 my husband underwent a heart surgery, and ended up having a stroke during the procedure. They didn't find it for TWO DAYS. Then we got roomed with a very loud and obnoxious roommate during recovery. I told the nurses many times that my husband needed a room to himself to recover...as he went through two huge operations and the roommate was there for something minor and it was not planned well. Now we come up here again for a follow-up procedure, and my vehicle got STOLEN FROM THE VALET PARKING STRUCTURE. I am at a complete and total loss. We drove over 4 hours to come here and will never be coming back. Communication between departments is horrible. Thankfully for us, most of the individual people are great, but something has to be done about security and communication.

If I could give six stars I would! My daughter was brought to a local hospital minutes from our home and was diagnosed with salmonella. After three days of treatment in the hospital (severe case), she did not get better. We drove our sick teenager to the U of M and after much testing discovered that the salmonella had reached her pancreas (rare case) and it could be fatal. The doctors and nursing staff were amazing. After another three days at the U of M, and being treated with the proper antibiotics, she is now home, feeling 120 percent better. A shout out to the 7th floor 7C wing! The nurses were outstanding and the many doctors (Mustapha, Gruessmen, Rote, etc) were extraordinary. They took the time to care for our daughter. That's rare today. We left blessed!

Spent some time in ER before it was determined to keep me overnight for observation. The doctors, nurses, and other staff were excellent.

The staff are abusive towards patients. I had severe diarrhea from an allergic reaction and instead of letting me go to the bathroom, they literally sat me down on the bed in order to take my vital signs (which clearly could've waited). I had to barge my way through a crowd of doctors and nurses blocking my way just to be able to go the bathroom. I absolutely will not be coming back to this hospital in the near future if this is what doctors think is best for their patients.
