feedback about Wesley Medical Center
We had a very nice visit/stay between Wesley hospital and Wesley birth care center when we delivered our son via c-section.
Our surgical team was stellar. Very professional, yet personable and happy to walk me through everything, during the procedure, in order to keep me calm and well informed.
For the most part, the nurses and staff were very supportive, helpful, available, and friendly. We were well cared for, especially by nurse Angie and nurse Cynda. I really liked that all of the nurses had their own phone numbers that you could call directly from the hospital phone instead of hitting a button that sent blinking light into the ether and waiting until someone noticed.
Our room was clean and spacious but lacked a few of the amenities that were supposed to be there: towels, bedding for the Murphy bed, and pillows. That was rectified upon request, so no big deal.
Unfortunately, one of the things that stuck with me the most was one of my day nurses that reeked of cigarettes that she tried to mask with perfume. Normally, I would have been able to move past this sort of thing, but being laid up in a labor and delivery center, post-c-section, with my brand new son being handled by the same person that was making me physically ill for 12 hours was unnerving. In hindsight, I would have requested a fully non-smoking staff.
Despite the middle twelve hours of my stay being a bit nauseating, I had a rather delightful stay and still highly recommend Wesley and Wesley Birth Care Center to anyone in the Wichita area that is expecting.
This Hospital has it all. I've had business here numerous times over the decades. Usually you'll receive fast, friendly service. Staff interested in taking care of those/your needs. They have an area too for those who request prayer, chapel facility and religious ministry. They have a decent Emergency Care Center. I highly recommend Wesley Medical Center should the need arises.
Registration was easy and efficient. I had a kidney stone removed. The entire staff (RNs, Doctors, orderlies, etc...) was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They took good care of me and answered all of my questions promptly.
Great team of health care people. Food was great. Only one thing I wish was better, the bed. Very hard to get out of.
I just had baby number 2, and this time around was 100% better than with my first. More information given, SUPER caring and friendly (and patient!!!!) nursing staff on the labor/delivery floor and recovery floor. Loved my experience!! Changes were made in the four year difference between babies—but the changes were needed and made everything so much better!!
