I am only talking about this one department and it is the Cardiology that is stationed at MCHC. Dr. Lopez and his staff is the best and he cares for his patients and their health. He has been working with me, he cheers me on, and he tells me everything he doesn't keep anything from me. I have never found a better Cardiologist then Dr. Lopez. The Lord knew what he was doing when he make him. I truly love my cardiologist and his staff
Between Hazard ARH and Whitesburg ARH I choose whitesburg. Better staff, cleaner, great doctors who are friendly and explain to your understanding. I am actually treated like a person here. Staff do their job. Most of all they are smarter here! I do not trust hazard at all.
I drive 45 minutes to go to this hospital, they're always clean, thorough and courteous, a great place to go if you need help
Would not recommend this hospital at all. I may come here for a bandaid or something minor but if u are in need of help in a life threatening situation your best bet would to be to go on to UK or Virginia or any other major hospital out there. I have a heart condition which had caused me to have to use a LVAD. It is a device I carry with me to pump the left side of my heart. I came in here other day needin a swab taking to check for infection around my driveline site and they was utterly clueless as to what to do. I basically walked out very disappointed and confuse and went back home to Lexington to get better treatment. I was on a trip to visit family and had to cut it short due to this hospital''s inability to treat me. I had had it done done before and even tried to explain to them how to test my wound and they still would not help me due to being scared and not knowing what to do I'n this situation. I hope they can upgrade this hospital and maybe hire some experienced Doctors and nurses and get up to date and today's modern treatment to help people in emergency situations. I hope this had helped you and them, have a blessed life. -Mr.Conn-
Avoid all the ARH's at all costs. Of the 4 or 5 times, I have been there or taken someone there, they had to go elsewhere to have the problem fixed. Misdiagnosis, in the ER, and missed broken bones, splinting the wrong finger, and long wait in the ER, for incompetent doctors and uncaring nurses. Only about 50 miles further to one of the top hospitals in the USA, Pikeville medical center, where everyone in this area goes.
