HealthUnity Corporation

HealthUnity Corporation was a health information technology company that specialized in interoperability solutions and health information exchange (HIE) infrastructure, not ambulatory EHR systems. Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, the company provided end-to-end interoperability solutions for medical IT transformation, enabling secure exchange of patient data across disparate healthcare systems. HealthUnity's offerings included private and public HIE platforms, master person index, referral management, patient consent management, and healthcare analytics capabilities built on Microsoft technology platforms. The company focused on connecting healthcare entities with minimal data centralization, allowing clinical data to flow seamlessly between participating systems based on business and confidentiality rules. HealthUnity products supported the implementation of more than 15 advanced health information exchange organizations, serving integrated delivery networks, health systems, group practices, and state collaboratives. In March 2015, ZeOmega acquired HealthUnity Corporation to combine population health management capabilities with interoperability solutions. Following the acquisition, the HealthUnity brand was rebranded as part of ZeOmega's interoperability platform, which became FHIR-enabled and focused on supporting payer-provider collaboration, prior authorization workflows, and regulatory compliance with CMS interoperability requirements. The company's solutions were designed to help healthcare organizations exchange clinical data between different EHR platforms rather than serving as a standalone ambulatory EHR system. HealthUnity's technology enabled providers using various EHR systems (such as Cerner, Meditech, and Sage Intergy) to share patient information across care settings. The original HealthUnity Corporation no longer exists as an independent entity and does not operate as an ambulatory EHR vendor.
