Hypothyroidism occurs when the thyroid gland does not make enough thyroid hormone. Symptoms of hypothyroidism may include: Tiredness and weakness. Weight gain. Depression. Memory problems. Constipation. Dry skin, brittle nails, and coarse, thinning hair. Not being able to tolerate cold temperatures.
