Dr. Thomas Emmett Francoeur reviews medical content for Healthwise, a nonprofit organization with a mission to help people make better health decisions. His research and clinical interests include developmental and behavioral pediatrics, pain syndromes in children, stress and coping in school-aged children, neurodevelopmental assessment techniques, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, psychosocial effects of chronic disease, suggestibility of children’s testimony, and child and adolescent psychopharmacology. Dr. Francoeur is a former president of the Canadian Pediatric Society and is the Director of the Child Development Programme and the Co-Director of the Psychopharmacology Clinic of the Developmental Behavioural Pediatric Service at the Montreal Children’s Hospital in Montreal, Quebec. He has participated in numerous lecture series in Montreal and is a frequent presenter throughout Canada.
