My dad went in for a colonoscopy and every member of the medical team were very friendly, knowledgeable and compassionate when I was told he has colon cancer. I’ve heard horror stories of how the VA Hospital treated our Veterans, I now know that is untrue at the facility in Alexandria.

Great service. The staff are very nice and everyone is willing to help.

They are thorough when they are examining you. They have also gotten a lot better at referring vets to the community doctors when they can't get us in within 30 days.

Worst VA hospital I have ever been to. Went in to get pictures of my acne to send to a dermatologist (since they don’t have one at this location) and was told that one in San Antonio Tx would look at the pictures and inform my primary care what to prescribe me. That was over a month ago and I have not received a call or meds in the mail like I was told. Also went in to get an ultrasound done on my ovaries and was also told by the tech that the doctors are really quick about giving the results to the clients within 24-48hrs. It’s has been almost a month since then. I called to try to get the results since I have pain and a history of problems with my ovaries and I was informed that I would have to drive ALL the way back there (which is an hr away from where I live) to sign a waiver to release my records to myself. -____-
