I wish i could give it a zero but thats not an option. Everything and i mean everything about this hospital is terrible. I took my mom in for care, by the way this hospital is about 30 miles from where we live but i was always under the understanding it was "the best hospital around". We got there and there was nowhere to park, the security guard helped me get her inside and instructed me to park by the wall and he would tell them he said it was ok (to later come out to a ticket and a threat to be towed on my window). The ER was extremely dirty and we had to wait 3 hours just to get out of the waiting room. When we got to the back it was also very dirty and the workers were so rude. In total we had 2 nurses and 3 different doctors with no communication they all told us something different and multiple diagnoses?!! We never did get an answer ans after 11 hours in the ER just told them we wanted to just go home. One doctor told her she had a broken back and another said she was fine...how is this possible. Plus almost all of the staff was rude and didnt come to check on her more than i think 3 times in the 11 hours we were there. No faith at all in this place or these doctors. I was scared to even let another one of them talk to her because clearly nobody there knows what they are talking about. Stay far away from this place!

I was at AGH yesterday for my mother-in-law’s cardiac surgery. Each and every single employee we encountered during our 13 hour day there went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. I really appreciate the level of care my mother-in- law received from checking in, pre-op, surgery, to recovery, to being admitted on the 11th floor. Dr. Belden, Matt (the nurse anesthetist), and Colleen (PACU RN), particularly exceeded our expectations in providing the very best level of care. Thank you so much!!

The nurses were very attentive and I was released to go home pretty quickly.

I need a negative star for this place. Had a test done and spent about 4 hrs waiting on my sister to pick me up when she got off work . About 30 minutes after I got home I received a call from the physician who performed the test. She told me I needed to come back and be admitted through the ER. My test showed I may have a infection in my heart and valves. Packed a bag made some calls to work and family. Decided to wait until the next morning to return, since I was still a little sedated from the test and didn't want to drive . So back I go the next morning to the ER. The ER was filthy! Food and wrappers on the floor and chairs. When I told the nurse why I was there, her reply was " I have no notes on your file, and I don't know why they do this. I should have ran at that point cause it only got worse. I was placed in a room that was complete gloom and doom. The walls where dirty with small holes, and no television in the room for my 5 hr wait in the ER. Maybe that would have distracted me from the dirt, and lack of professionalism. I tried not to use the bathroom, because I could only imagine what I was in for. When I finally went to the bathroom in the hall. I found bloody bandages a dirty sink and toilet along with a foul odor. Oh I haven't even touched this nightmare. The first doctor told me I showed no symptoms and wasn't sure why I was asked come back. Then a student nurse came in, and said I was being admitted. Then another lady came in and said I was not going to be admitted. Only put in a observation room, because I didn't meet the criteria to be admitted. It was back and forth. Now comes the best part, finally they decide to take me upstairs. 2 nurses or student nurses I'm not sure which, came into the room to hook me up to a monitor, lifting my gown without even closing the door to the room. I was finally placed in a observation room with lady who I believe had dementia, she kept screaming at me to put her back in her bed, though she was already laying in her bed. After her food was delivered and had sat and got cold 2 nurses finally came in to feed her. At this point I was done, I got my nurse and told him either he remove the IV pic or I would , I was leaving!!! I could tell my nurse had an attitude and when I told him not to take it personal his reply was " I'm not sleeping with you so I wouldn't take it personal" I did not even know what to say to that. I'm not from this area, and have never experienced such unprofessional surroundings in a hospital in my 52 yrs on this Earth. Please don't ask me to call a number and talk about this. I'm not an idiot and don't believe for a min you care about any of this. If you did, it wouldn't be going on. I would never return nor ever recommend this hospital to anyone, as a matter of fact it will become one of my horror stories.
