ER Nurses are very rude and like to talk in a loud whisper about patients and and who accompany them and are very slow showed up at like 2:10am and now it is almost 3:30am I do not reccomend this place at all to care for the sick or hurt! Next time I'll take the 54 minute Drive to Worcester to get treated with respect and dignity as a human who is accompanying a sick person.

Each and everytime I walk into(or be brought into) Athol Hospital I am treated with the appropriate amount of respect and I, for the most part, feel as if they are treating me with respect. The nurses as well as the doctor's appear to be listening to the issues at hand. Are there times when this doesn't happen??? yes there are, BUT when anyone in my family goes to the hospital for something small that can and should be taken care of there, it gets treated. When a patient needs the extra special care that cannot be done at the Athol Hospital. I have found out that they stabilize patient and get pt onboard to one of larger more capable hospitals. We as a whole should NOT be judgemental about the place, but be thankful that we have the hospital here. Take the 2 minutes you need to think how a family member would fare if they had to travel all the way to Baystate Franklin, HHH, or even Worcester. Think about that before giving a bad review or bad mouthing the place. It is not easy. Lots of Love and Respect to you all!!!

I have been feeling way under the weather for a few days. Went in there because MY MOM talked me into going. Just to sit there and basically be talked about because it shouldnt be an emergency at almost 2 am. Nurses and the dr sat behind their glass thing doing their own thing. While I sat and waited for almost an hour to be asked to open my mouth, then to proceed to check my ears. Told me they are going to give me pain meds. And a pill. Just no. The RNs threw my sister and sister in law out of the room cause the dr didnt need an audience. But came back and proceed to talk about them and how people think they are entitled.

It's a better hospital now that it's working with Henry Heywood out of Gardner.

Went there with severe knee pain, waited for a period of time, then got x-rays, and waited for several hours because the nurse said the doctor was busy. They didn't give me a Walker to walk with when we left said to call back in a couple of hours, we decided to call the next day because it was so late, absolutely nothing the next day, and no pain meds either. I have turn legimates in the knees and a hairline fracture on my ankle which is swallow. Will definitely not go back there again, very rude staff.
