Consumer feedback about Bakersfield Heart Hospital

Emergency Room is decent. Kind of out dated. Intake staff is good. Drs are just average. Nurses need to shape up. On 1/24/2018, RN Lisa was absolutely rude, uncaring, and very inconsiderate. When asked for the diagnosis and clarification on the illness my wife had, she was set off. Like it was beneath her to clarify a diagnosis. She angrily pointed to paper work saying it’s all there read it(mind you we had yet to be told the diagnosis by a Dr or a nurse). Hostility and unkindness have zero place in a hospital setting. Some people should not be in the industry, and she is one of them. Nursing is all about caring and compassion in which she does not hold the ability to do either.

I haven’t had the time or energy to post a review for a while. I took my mother to the Heart Hospital because she was in such excruciating pain that she was vomiting. This went on for days before I convinced her to go to the hospital. She sat in the emergency room waiting area for six hours nearly crying. Upon heading back, the doctor took an X-ray said nothing was broken and shipped her out. The next day, we drove her all the way to Henry Mayo Hospital in Valencia. She had to have emergency spinal surgery! The doctors had to remove her vertebrae and replace it with a titanium one immediately before her vertebrae snapped the nerves! It was a very horrible experience because she was sent home in pain without resolution.

The absolute WORST E.R. in all of Kern County. I wouldn’t even recommend to my worst enemy. Extremely incompetent and rude all the way around. No compassion whatsoever from anyone working here. The only thing they hurry up and do is take your money. After waiting for over 4 hours in an EMPTY waiting in excruciating pain nonetheless, I asked for my copay back to go somewhere else to receive proper treatment and they said sorry there’s nothing we can do. You can try calling the billing department when they open. So basically I have to pay a large copay to sit in pain in an empty waiting room for over 4 hours, to be talked down to by a rude incompetent nurse, and listen to the news. DO NOT COME HERE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. You will regret it.

This place is the WORST!! My father came into the ER (via ambulance) and was left on a crappy bed in the HALLWAY all day and night. Freezing and uncomfortable. We had NO IDEA what was going on. The nurses and doctor were even more confused than we were (that's comforting). When we asked what was going on they had a terrible iconvenienced attitude. Are you kidding me? This is YOUR job. I've had better service at an IHOP. We waited over 24hrs (still waiting) to get his test results. I'm telling you, DO NOT take your loved ones here. It's a run down, sub par, pathetic place to bring anyone you love.

You will be dead before your seen over there, spent close to 14hrs waiting in ER to be seen still not seen so I left. never seen anything like this, Id advise if you have something serious going on, go elsewhere if you really wanna be seen, people were friendly but you won't be seen, just facts. I hated to leave these words but it's just the truth
