The ER is nothing more than a band-aid station. After performing a few basic task, they weren't sure how to treat a scratched eye so they suggested I see an actual eye doctor. I still received a bill from the ER for over $1,200.
The management was unwilling to meet with me and reluctant to return phone calls when I tried to get an explanation of the charges. It took weeks to get phone calls returned. When they finally read me my medical records over the phone the doctor indicated that he treated my eye and wrote me a prescription. That never happened.
I wrote a letter to the CEO to explain the problems I was having with his management and billing. I also requested that they mail me a physical copy of my medical records. I got a generic letter basically thanking me for my visit but never received my records.
BCMH is likely up charging patients when they think they have insurance that will pay the bill and no one will ask questions. I still haven't received my medical records and it has almost been one year. Save yourself the hassle and go to a real hospital.
