My daughter broke her ankle while hiking near Barstow. The staff was amazing. There was zero wait in the emergency room. They whisked her right back and took care of every need. She was medicated, x-rayed and splinted in record time. The hospital was CLEAN, not overly crowded, and the staff was absolutely amazing!! I didn't feel like I was even in California the care was so quick, prompt and courteous. GREAT JOB GUYS! Keep up the great work!

Went to hospital by ambulance, due to dehydration and heat exhaustion. Was not fully aware when they discharged me. My ID was lost in the process when I called them to see if it was there, I got transferred to at least four different people, then was hung up on and had to call back, talked to two more people before they said they didn't have it. I will never go back to Barstow Community Hospital ever again. They are the worst hospital I've ever been to.

Barstow hospital is the worse place to go . I been sick the past 3 days so I decided to go because the pain was awful I had fevers the past days & my throat was on fire it hurt to swallow . The doctor didn’t even said hi or asked me how I was feeling the first thing he said was so what’s the emergency? With an rude tone. I said I don’t feel good my throat hurts & he just got me off didn’t even let me finish . He said that’s all ? Then I said I been having fevers the fast few days & again he cut me off & said that’s it? Do you know the definition of an emergency ? Then I said it’s hurts to swallow & that’s when he was like ok that’s something & then that’s when I started to get upset like he seriously couldn’t let me finish talking & he made me feel like I was just waisting he’s time & that nothing was wrong with me . That’s when I went off & got up & said I’ll just go home . YES I DID GO OFF because this man made me feel like I was just being dramatic & he was being rude . I wasn’t feeling good at all! Him & the nurse even ask me how old was I for even asking this way!!??? That I’m a grown woman that I need to stop. Because I was upset & crying makes me a child? How can they even tell me that . They are here to help me feel better not tell me how to act or feel! They kept telling me to stay to stay but I didn’t want to I felt so uncomfortable being around him. I told him I was going to make a report about him & he said he didn’t care that he wasn’t going to force me to stay but he kept telling me to stay to look what’s wrong with me? He was rude & unprofessional that’s all I have to say. I end up having strep throat and they gave me two penicillin shots one in the arm and one in the hip. I hope I never come back here again . & I can see why everybody in Barstow hates this place . I feel so bad for our town .

I normally am not one to complain about places like this, but I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with Barstow hospital. I spent all day long there with a potentially dangerous medical issue, and a lot of pain. After 8 hours of sitting in the ER, I was told that they weren't capable of conducting the test that I needed and that they were going to have to send me by ambulance to Riverside to be evaluated. I wasted 8 hours and God only knows how much money they will bill me for. They could have saved me the $$ and told me right up front that they were incapable of treating me. A nurse even told me to drive to Victorville and check into their ER where the test could be done. The other thing that I noticed is how dirty the floors were in the ER; Not the waiting area, but the room where they actually treat patients. The was trash and food on the floor, and The floor looked as if it hadn't been mopped in a week.
