If I could give this hospital -2 stars it still would not suffice. My husband spent 2 days getting prepped for gallbladder removal only to be told he didn't need surgery (from a doctor he had never even spoken to) and better yet she wasn't responsible for whomever said it and she doesn't work for the hospital. HE WAS PREPPED FOR TWO DAYS PEOPLE. YOUR ENTIRE STAFF continually prepared him/our family for this surgery. UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They sat in his room pointing fingers and asking my husband which tests were done because they didn't have it noted on his chart. NOBODY knows what the other is doing and I find it fascinating they are in charge of peoples care.
You would think it was a one time issue, however, I was there not long ago for the same problem, brought in by ambulance 5 times in 7 days to be told 'nothing wrong' and on the 5th day was admitted because my gallbladder had 'disintegrated'. Awesome! Oh, I forgot to mention on one of my visits to their ER, Dr Coney, refused to give me pain medication. I overheard her telling the nurse she thought I was an IV drug user!!!!!!!! I read in another review she had assumed the same of another woman. UNBELIEVABLE. Completely reckless. They had pulled enough blood during my multiple visits that you would think SOMEONE would have checked for that at some point. Complacency at its finest! Meanwhile, while I was waiting in the surgical unit, they had checked my potassium levels were dangerously low and realized someone forgot to give it to me. If i had the surgery I would have died. Was then sent upstairs to my room and had to wait another day. The doctor in the surgical unit says 'what, you don't like our 2 star rating'? This hospital is a complete nightmare and there is absolutely zero communication within staff. Not to mention they are ALL completely disrespectful at every possible turn. This place need to close before somebody dies there. I ended up discharging my husband and bringing him to another hospital where he was checked in and schedule to have his gallbladder removed. Save yourself the trouble and drive the extra 20 minutes to keep your loved ones safe.
Was just told his gallbladder is EXTREMELY inflamed and has golf ball size stones. The doctor at BFPG, the same one who barged in his room stating he doesn't need surgery, said his gallbladder was not inflamed. It will be removed early in the morning. Thank you once again Bayfront PG. Again, complacency at its finest!
