feedback about Cameron Memorial Community Hospital Inc
Staff was very nice and pleasant for labor and delivery. Very attentive to needs and felt overall care was excellent for me and my newborn. Surgical floor staff was also very comforting and made me feel at ease for first ever surgery. The Hospital also looks very nice and the OB rooms are adequate size, private and have private restroom and shower.
Doctor was really cynical and literally said "anything broken besides your pride?" Gave me a boot for my fracture. Nurses were nice at least, but almost didn't give me crutches. No information on whether I should walk in the boot or not. Wouldn't recommend for er. 😣
Cameron Memorial Community Hospital is not on par with other hospitals on their willingness to work with self pay patients. Other hospitals even in this area are willing to offer substantial discounts off of their billing, while Cameron offers only 10% and you have to be able to pay that within 3 weeks! I received my first statement and called the billing department to see when I needed to pay by to receive the Prompt Pay discount. I was told within 30 days. I called today, which was 30 days, and was no longer offered the discount. They told me I was 9 days late, and that what I was told initially was incorrect. If I had KNOWN and been told the CORRECT date I would have made arrangements to pay by then in order to secure the discount. Even though in the grand scheme of things the 10% discount is not that huge, I would still appreciate working with a business that stands by their word! On their website they have a list of values that make up their Guiding Principles. I'm pretty sure they can take "Integrity" off of that list.
Received a bill yesterday that was 2 years old. Called into business office and was told we owe it for my wife's visit which from December 2016. When pushed further they said it appears we charged your FSA card but refunded it in 2017. They can't tell me why they refunded it. Now in December of 2018 they want me to pay them again. I work for a different company and have different FSA provider. I can't tell if they really refunded it or not. Am I supposed to take them at their word? Where did the first payment go from 2016??? After talking to a supervisor I guess a customer service rep will need to review this and it will take 7-14 days. I have never dealt with such an unorganized business. There only response was sometimes it takes 16 months for insurance. This is 24 months. . . Very disappointed. Glad I have different insurance now as I can use Parkview again. I will make sure all my friends and family know how Cameron works.
They have helped my wife a lot. The er staff did a great job. And the nurses have been great. I would send anyone to this hospital.
