We're here now. What a joke. This is my wife's second day here with all kinds of pain with no resolution. It's so cold in the rooms it's like a walk in refrigerator. I'm sure when I get the hospital bill it will be worth a 2 week vacation to paradise island for the CEO's of this corrupt facility. You're welcome. We've been here almost 8 hours today and 6 hours yesterday and still have not received a valid explanation as to what's going on.

I brought my wife to the ER with a broken ankle. Her vitals were taken & then she was sent to the general waiting room, with no information other than to wait for fast track to open. I then asked for ice to help alleviate her pain. Finally, she was taken for X-rays. She was sent to a room in fast track where a PA couldn’t even pull her X-rays up on the computer, so he brings me into an office to use my cell phone to take pictures of them to show the patient. When discussing pain medications he mentions “athletes experiencing an injury abuse opioids”. In summary the entire experience was awful and actually sickening. Hence the reason people go across the pond for care.

Waited 2 and a half hours for a room, another hour to see anyone. If there isn’t enough staff to operate the ER, shut it down.

Took my Mom (she's 76) in to the E/R for throat pain on 11/19/2018.
Spent 5 hours there. Was never seen by a doctor. Had blood pressure and vitals checked. That's it. After 5 hours she decided the best thing to do was just leave.
Did I mention she was a nurse at CVPH all her life.
Just seems wrong. She pays a lot of money for health insurance. What did it get her.
It will probably be a $500 bill and for what?
Never seen by a doctor...
Jack up everybody's insurance rates.

I went there in January 2018 with heel fissures so bad they were bloody.
Got a note for 3 days off from work and was told to put vaseline on my heels.
No insurance. $500 bill.
After 3 days I was in no shape to return to work.
Got a 2nd opinion at another care facility in Plattsburgh and a note for A MONTH out of work so I could keep my job.
Cost was under $100.
After one month of vaseline I was good to return to work.

If you have something wrong, Google it first.
You'll receive the same benefits and save $500 or more.

Go to the E/R only if you are in a life or death situation.
Even then I probably wouldn't go there unless it was out of my control.

I assume everyone there does the best they can.
Serious room for improvement.

I had to make a stop here on my way from NC to Canada due to internal bleeding. I was afraid due to the reviews on the web but it was my only choice at 10PM on a Sunday. However, it was a positive experience from beginning to end. The staff at the front desk, the ER nurses, the doctor and CT scan staff - everyone was so kind, compassionate, efficient, professional, and knowledgeable. I had no wait at all and was whisked right in, hooked up to an IV and examined. It seems to me that if they suspect something serious, they are all over it.
