Dr Owens is the sorriest excuse for a doctor I have ever seen. Made my mother feel like a drug addict ‘pain management isnt our problem’ what else is a hospital for? If someone is in pain, that’s where you go to fix it. This place is a joke. On top of that, we got in the room and they had a completely different persons file in the room. I will never be back.

So let me tell y’all what happened to me. Sunday evening my head had been hurting for 3 days at this point. It was so unbearable so I went to St.Vincent ER in Morrilton. I seen a dr Owens. I was crying I was in so much pain. This dr did nothing for me. I mean nothing for me. He offered me a Tylenol and something for the nausea and vomiting. He took one look at my record and seen I had IIH and was pregnant. He told me that he couldn’t do anything and that I needed to go to another hospital where my OB was. Yes, he told me to go to another ER. However, he was concerned enough to make sure I called my OB to make sure I had an appointment the following day to see them. So I called and talked with a nurse at the UAMS women’s clinic where she advised that she needed to talk to the dr because I told the nurse what the Dr had said. After she talked with him she advised me that I needed to talk with my neurologist and they were getting my appointment for the following day with my OB. I contacted my neurologist Monday morning and they told me to come in immediately. So my mother took me to the dr. I explained everything that happens the evening before and she wanted to know why the ER dr didn’t do anything. Fluids, test, anything. I told her I wasn’t sure. He just said he couldn’t treat my IIH. When I get there my heart rate was 175 BPM and my blood pressure was 158/115. Ok so I’m almost in cardiac arrest. She immediately sends me to the nearest ER. I go to uams. I get there my blood pressure and bp is still extremely high. They start taking blood , hooked me up to to ekg’s, running test, etc. I explained everything that lead up to this visit and once again I was asked why Dr Owens in Morrilton failed to do anything. I was severely dehydrated from the morning sickness. Which I clearly expressed to dr Owens the night before. But he couldn’t look past my pregnancy and my history of IIH, just said he couldn’t treat me. In less then 12 hours from that visit I almost had a heart attack. I am very disappointed in the care I received. I say that to say this. Be your own advocate. I tried and it still failed me and it could have cost me my life yesterday.

I brought my 16 year old child in for a possible ear/sinus infection because last week she was seen at another facility that prescribed a steroid that did nothing. And thanks to the meth heads in the great state of Arkansas you MUST have a prescription to buy Sudafed. So hence the reason for the visit. Well let’s just say that now I know why this place received the rating of 2.2 stars! The doctor that treated my child was extremely rude and arrogant. He addressed my child as if I wasn’t even in the room. I found this approach to be unprofessional and disrespectful. Unless it is a LIFE OR DEATH emergency I will not step foot in this place again!

I have never had a good experience at this hospital. From admitting all the way to the billing process it has been painful. I do my best to bypass this hospital and go some where else.

I'd give zero stars if I could. Everytime we have had to visit here the nurses have no communication skills and the wait is rediculas. This time waiting over 2 hours to get results of a xray on my sons foot. This place is awful.
