Great Hospital and great staff overall. Cancer center is amazing!! Some of the doctors are not people oriented or care oriented. I don't know if they are burned out or what? But that needs to be a vital part of the health care process. Empathy is a must. Especially when dealing with terminally ill children. This Hospital has been amazing, as far as, the care overall and the service provided for my child. They have saved his life for now and we are ever thankful. They have a great group of Doctors and Nurses and Staff!!!! And I will not let a couple bad and rude Doctors who don't have any empathy , ruin it for the rest of them. 5 stars for the Hospital overall. 1 Star to the couple of doctors who are not empathetic and don't have the level of care needed for their position. Thanks so much Children's hospital!!!

All of the doctors and nurses were attentive and caring and kept us informed of all tests and procedures being done on our daughter in the emergency room tonight.

Communication is a big problem for hospital staff. There is no direct communication. The communication is through the nurse or someone else who almost always has limited information. One must wait hours to receive a response over the phone and sometimes not even that. For days I've been waiting for an answer to a simple question. It is incredible that after more than three days I still do not know if the specialist in charge of making the consultation with insurance, did or not the consultation.

My son was hit in the hand while playing hockey in Omaha. The on-site trainer referred us to Children's Hospital to have it checked out. After waiting an hour in the waiting room and another 20 mins in the room my son had an X-Ray done on his hand. We waited another 20 mins for the nurse to tell us they don't know if it is broken and they needed to call another doctor to read the X-Ray. Waited another 20 mins. The doctor found there was a chipped knuckle and wrapped his hand.. Wish this was the worst part. I received the bill. $1,500.00 was submitted to our insurance 1055.25 for the 2 hours wait time and X-ray. $400 for hospital services and $40 for someone to read the X-ray. After insurance $570 bill. NEVER GO TO THEIR ER. Could not imagine the charges for something remotely serious.

Wait times in the ER are horrible. Communication is lacking. Very unprofessional. Very dismissive of concerns of the well-being of your child. Every time we have had to come here we leave very angry and disappointed. Someone close to me brought their child in recently with a high fever, signs of being very dehydrated, and very ill and waited 4 hours while watching others go in and out and other there after them get in before them without being seen still. When they asked how much longer it would be to have their child checked out they were told the wait was still going to be a very long time. Now I am in healthcare and understand some things take priority, however a dehydrated, very ill for several days young child shouldn’t be placed on the back burner repeatedly for 4+ hours with no inclination of a provider being able to see said child anytime soon. The ER here is the absolute worst and the staff seem to always be uninformed and improperly educated.
