Was very disappointed with the treatment I recently received in the emergency room. I was admitted into Borgess 2 days later. Left in tears from the remarks the ER doctor made me feel. Will never return to that ER and advise anyone to beware. Had same problem back in 2014 with this same ER doctor. I will drive to Marshall or Battle Creek. I would like someone to contact me about this matter.
Very rude. Very uneducated. The staff and doctor were skeptical of my pain from the start and wouldn't listen. They labeled me as a drug user right off the bat and demanded a urine sample. They doubted my pain and kept telling me I definitely had a kidney stone, which didn't match my description of pain AT ALL. The doctor wouldn't even consider my thoughts. They shot my IV with pain meds without my consent and gave me so heavily of a dose I could barely talk or remember my birthday. The doctor herself couldn't even properly detatch my IV so I could go pee. She stuck her nail into my arm and tugged it roughly and I told her she was hurting me. My tests results shown no signs of the kidney stone they were so adamant about. And sent me on my way with a hefty bill and two perscriptions for a drug I can't take. I was very disappointed with my experience and later was told it was very obviously a buldging/herniated disc. Please be careful seeking help from these people.
Many other community members and I agree, this hospital gives extremely poor service compared to other hospitals. The staff is not only rude, but smile in the patient's face and talk poorly about them when leaving the room. I have overhead this.
If you even get the chance to see a Dr at this hospital you will see they almost always try to be as quick as possible, and do their jobs throughly. Many people have left this hospital only to return hours later or go to a different facility, as the Drs failed them.
I witnessed a stage 3 cancer patient with reoccurring visits to this hospital, put off for nearly a year until they realized he even had cancer. By then it was too late. I've also witnessed them treat mental health patients viciously, by belittling them and making them feel worse about themselves. I watched an ICU Doctor at ProMedica Hospital tell a young girl, who frequents mental health facilities, that her fifth suicide attempt was just her seeking attention, instead of admitting that this facility has failed her and many others - more times than it has helped them.
When we help others, we should do it unselfishly and put our pride aside, especially when saving lives. If the rude staff members can't handle their attitudes while doing a crucial job, they should be let go or leave. However I have a feeling this hospital is just in it for the money, since they haven't listened to all of the other community members who have complained. You can see that more than half of the online reviews are one star, and If you ask community members about this hospital their opinions won't deferentiate much from the reviews.
I have been here several times, have always been very well taken care of .Very confident with the doctors and nurses.
Made us wait an unreasonable amount of time in the waiting room when my Grandpa was pretty injured. Also we waited hours for the result of a scan that never happened. AND GET THIS, they were making were making popcorn in the nurses station next door, and caused a signal 56, (which if you didn't know, is the code for FIRE) because they burnt popcorn which set off the fire alarm. They are supposed to be giving my Grandpa medical treatment, but can't even make a bag of popcorn correctly. They never told us that we were spending the night, but we were there from around 10pm to around 7:30am. Mostly waiting for nothing. At one point we pressed the call nurse button so we could inquire about that the Results of the CT Scan. It took them about seven to ten minutes to respond. IF THAT HAS BEEN AN EMERGENCY, IT COULD HAVE BEEN TO LATE BY THE TIME THEY GOT THERE. Finally at like 6:30am they did the CT scan on his abdomen, that was supposed to have happened HOURS AGO. The nurses were very nice, except for the one from Triage that kept giving me the stink eye for no reason, that I can really think of. While the nurses were nice, the service was absolute trash. PROMEDICA/CHC YOU HAVE FAILED ME GREATLY, AND I WON'T FORGET THIS.
