This hospital is way over priced for service's. I do not recommend this hospital. It's sad that here in the country we are charged so much for medical care. So far I have received 2 bills from here total cost for a minor hernia operation almost $18,000.00 wow! somebody is getting rich.
If this hospital wanted to be a great hospital they would charge what a person can afford, not what we can suck out of someone. Americans need to stand up for lower cost of medical care. ProMedica is not the place. Even when I called to make a payment the billing person states "Yes I here this all the time" I just work here. This is not right! I know doctor's have to make a living and I understand cost. But this is just outrageous in the charges. 2 hours operations, 15 minute office visit! WOW..... NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL. OVER PRICE MEDICAL SERVICE!

Terrible experience with Dr. Erica J Pribis. Was experiencing severe muscle spasms. I had visited the facitly and received a shot earlier in the day. At that point turned down pain medication. However, woke up in the middle of the night and went back to the ER in severe pain. This doctor just viewed me as a drug seeker. She did not search my background. She didn’t check the database to see my prescription history(which is non existent as I haven’t had an opioid prescription in 4-6 years). And then to make things worse, she flat out lied to me and said it was against the law in Ohio to prescribe opiates to chronic pain patients. I called her on it and she simply dug her hole deeper. The nurses brought me their prescribing guidelines and I was clearly in them. So, I’m back at home. In severe pain, and now with an ER bill.

I never knew that lying to patients was included into the hypocritical oath. Pathetic.

You may read all the bad reviews about billing and doctors trying to figure out chronic pain, but when it comes down to saving a life, this hospital has your best interest. My wife’s pregnancy took a turn with a prolapsed umbilical cord. The nurse, June, recognized it right away. There was an amazing staff in the operating room immediately working in 9 minutes and 3 minutes later Dr. Lucas delivered our baby girl with the help of Cindy Vandemark, CNP, Dr Reiter, and Dr. Stuckey, Anesthesiologist, among 15 or so other assistants. It was all hands on deck immediately. You would’ve thought they practiced this emergency every day. I apologize if I left out any more doctors in the O.R., but it was so chaotic. Our baby girl wouldn’t be here without them. Thank you so much. We owe her life to you.

I have always been happy with the care my family receives at ProMedica and our primary physician. If you visit the ER, be sure to keep on top of the billing and your insurance company to make sure you don't end up over paying. I had to make a lot of phone calls to clear up the billing between the hospital, the ER doctor's network and my Insurance company.

I went to the wound clinic at promedica Defiance hospital. I had an amazing experience with all the staff. Janel Weaver was very knowledgeable about my wound. Her staff was amazing and everyone made me feel welcomed!
