Diley Ridge Medical Center

My wife and I were involved in a minor car accident on March 1st, 2019 and went here to get our baby checked on. My wife was 27 weeks pregnant at the time. We came in and told the triage nurse, registration as well as the other nurse who took her vitals that “we just want to get the baby checked”. Well four hours later she finally gets called back to the ER room, where we are informed FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 4 HOURS THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE O.B. SERVICES!!!!!! So, we were then forced to drive 45 minutes away to another hospital. I called a day or two later to complain and was told that the head ER doctor would call us back, which he did. In his phone call he stated that they can not tell us that they did not offer OB services as this would be a refusal of care. I am a full-time firefighter/Paramedic and am extremely upset by this statement as it is extremely incorrect. As a patient health care provider, you have A DUTY AND OBLIGATION to provide your patients with the correct information about their care. This can include saying that a particular hospital is not staffed or equipped to handle their needs!!! The staff at Diley Ridge failed to do this several times over and it sounds like this is coming from the top down. Having the triage nurse informing people that this hospital is possibly not the best place for them just makes sense. But I’m sure this “policy” is more about getting your money instead.

I live in Canal Winchester and when I was 6 months pregnant I was having a very sharp stabbing pain when I moved. Called my regular doctor and as it was after hours I was told to go to ER. Made the mistake of going to Diley Ridge as it is 5 minutes away. Nice building and staff, zero wait. Doctor questioned whether I was in premature labor and told me to go up to Grant. Which we did, and thankfully just pulled/knotted muscles . Then I got the bills. For a 20 minute visit in which my blood pressure was taken, doctor poked me a bit and they listened to fetal heart rate billed $3,213. Compared to Grant which was about 4 hours, fetal monitoring, ultrasound, various other tests and we were billed $895. Insurance covered most of both bills fortunately but just seemed WAY overcharged for Diley.

My mom is 85 and had the best experience ever with Allison (mammography technician) that she has ever had. She was gentle, caring and expedient, as mom has trouble standing for long periods. Allison even took mom during her lunch break just to ensure she had enough time with mom. Come on, who does that? Allison, you are the best and we so appreciate you!!

I have been there several times and nice environment, however, I got no help when I went here for seizure like activities. The activities came from giving me the wrong meds and then not doing anything for me when I came in. The bill came up to 2400.00 for the doctor to only tell me to follow up with my doctor. I got no meds or anything. They are a rip off in my personal opinion.
