feedback about Doctors' Community Hospital
Have had a couple of surgeries there, and everything went well. My specialist is connected to this hospital, which is why I did the surgeries there. In-take staff were nice and hospital room nurses and staff were generally pleasant (even the tech waking me up at 5am to draw blood, haha). I never experienced any major issues or challenges during my surgeries.
I have been very impressed with the services received, the patient care and bedside manner at Doctor's these past few years. I have been approximately four times in the past two or three years. I'm a caregiver of a parent and then I had two incidences that required emergency care. I will say that the emergency room is very thorough with regards to taking blood work, X-rays, and making sure that they run all tests that are applicable to your situation. I appreciate the TVs in the emergency rooms, the vending machines in the waiting areas, the rooms are clean and updated and although short staffed the nurses/aides respond in a reasonable time when called.
I have read some of the other reviews and have to say that hasn't been my experience. I am sorry for anyone that has to experience what those negative reviews state. I wish those individuals that had positive experiences took the time to complete reviews. I had to take my dad to Georgetown Hospital last month and WISHED that I had chosen Doctor's instead (at least for the energency room services).
This is my nearest emergency department from where I leave I usually don’t go there but I had a true emergency and it’s sad to say I will have to go farther away. I have multiples medical problems I went in there for breathing problems and fever. When it was time to put a IV two nurses came in a room one nurse was training the other they never ask me if that was okay, I inform the nurse I have small vein especially in my hand she proceeds and use a bigger needle to start the IV and the vein pop mind you I told her that I had small veins. I know my body, hospitals are like second homes to me and usually I tell a nurse something a they listen, Then a technician said he is coming here for labs I said ok that is fine I had my hand mid air so he can find a vein he puts the needle in with my hand mid air then he’s moving the needle and hits a nerve so of course I moved and it bleeds out he got the blood he needed. And just walked out, But completely left my hand with blood and my phone had blood, the blanket had blood. The doctors there are awesome but next time I won’t be going there.
Worst hospital ever.. if you are in pain.. never ever come here they will leave you in pain for a very long time. The nurse was mean as hell to me because I was asking to see the doctor. I arrived at 12 pm.. it’s 5am I am still here.. don’t ever waste your time at this place. Did I mention how dirty the rooms are. Just the worst experience ever!!
They don't believe in HIPPA. They aren't intelligent enough to listen to my answering machine and realize that they are calling someone's home, not an assisted living facility. They keep leaving people's medical information on my home answering machine. I've called them and told them, but their calls don't stop.
