feedback about Doctors Hospital of Sarasota
We brought our 11 month in for a small cut we wanted to have looked at. He did need some minor help and we were in and out in less than an hour. The ARNP’s, nurses and staff were fantastic, well trained and very compassionate.
Thank you to everyone!
It has taken me a couple of days to write this review because I am still in shock for how I was treated. I have come to Doctors Hospital on multiple occasions for roughly the same thing. I have chronic migraines and I am always treated with diligence and care. Except for this last time. Dr. McFadden walked into my room shouting and taking no particular care to the fact that I had a debilitating migraine for the last 5 days. Not only did he continue with his awful bedside manner after being informed on my health issue but he treated me as if I was not of importance to him. He was rude and, made me feel as though I was overreacting to the pain while I was in the fetal position throwing up because of my condition, asking if I was sure I wasn’t pregnant. After hooking me up to an IV for an hour I felt little to no relief and I told him that only to have him put me on more meds, not inform me on what he was putting in my IV or what he was aiming to do. The nurse Sarah, was little to no help as well, my mother and I had to prompt her to tell us what she was injecting into my arm and even after she told us names, she could barely tell us the reasoning behind the medication. After 3 hours in the ER, Dr. McFadden showed back up, still screaming I might add, saying that I seemed fine and he was going to “cut me loose.” Proceeding to make me wait another HOUR sitting in the room with no IV and no communication to sign a SINGLE piece of discharge paper. He stopped back in to apologize for the wait making it seem as if he needed to be there when I signed it but about 45 minutes later a nurse came in (who had been walking past my room and chatting with coworkers the whole time) and had me sign the paper. Looking through the reviews I see that only the good ones get a response from the hospital, so I’m not expecting to be contacted after my horrible experience. But if you’re in immense amounts of pain and feel you need an emergency room, I suggest going to a different one even if it’s a farther drive because the commute will prove to be worth it. It’s a shame because my other experiences and doctors have been lovely. But it just takes one to ruin the whole hospital.
I required their services quite recently. Everyone that I interacted with was highly skilled and very personable. This experience began as I entered the hospital, and frankly continued until I was admitted. As a person who actually worked in a hospital setting for several years, I would place Doctors Hospital Emergency Department right at the top.
I am so grateful for the care I received from the emergency room to the floor care staff, the Doctor in the emergency room was genuinely concerned about my well being, and wasn't concerned about if I had insurance. The nursing staff were very attentive and very, very kind. The Er Doctor came and checked on me every day, maybe they are supposed to, but it still made me feel as if I was really important. Again thankyou to everyone for making sure I was ok and treating me with such dignity.
Had a heart surgery treatment with Dr Puleo who is an excellent physician. My review is based on the hospital staff. I own a business and customer service is everything to me. The staff was rude, the nurses team leader named Lucy and nurse Beth were apathetic and rude.
They had a bunch of nursing students in a big group visit my room after I had just awoke from anesthesia after heart surgery. My friend who was vising, a medical professional was present and was in shock when listening to these ladies as staff representatives were using inappropriate language in front of the students and they asked to look at my leg to show where the insertion was made in my upper thigh to insert stents.
They were commenting inappropriately " “move his junk out of the way” referring to my private parts and were very demeaning, highly unprofessional.
Go to Sarasota Memorial in future ....
