I've had 2 babies here and had a separate hospital stay on the surgical floor. For the birth of my second baby, she came very quickly, and there were 6 nurses that came in to help deliver her. It was amazing, because they were like fairies coming in to help and leave just as soon as she was born.

When I stayed on the surgical floor, I had one nurse, and I wish I could remember her name because she was amazing. She stayed past her shift just to make sure that I was taken care of and that everything would go smoothly for me. She was really an angel. The doctors were all really good for me, but the nurses are what really helped shape my view of this hospital.

I was there in December great staff and care,but service charges. They charge me for service I didn't need and received almost 1800$ on the top 285000 they charge my ins.co. try to dispute the charges nobody cares. Where is the honesty. SHAME ON YOU EDWARDS.

I would have preferred just dying rather than having to deal with their billing offices. They wildly overcharge and "offer financial assistance" but cannot figure out how to process an application. Their billing department will not talk to their financial assistance department, but will happily threaten to send you to collections while waiting on an application to process.

Posting on behalf of my wife. She had a sarcoma tumor removed in March at RUSH and has been undergoing chemotherapy treatments. After a trip to her general pratictioner he was concerned about the sound of her lungs and her possibly getting pneumonia so he sent her to the ER at Edward. Her Doctor told her she didn’t need to take her blood pressure medications bc it had been low but the nurses tried to give them to her and kept insisting despite my wife telling them she wasn’t going to on doctors orders. She ordered breakfast and waited 90 MINUTES for it to arrive. Nurses took forever to come to her room whenever she’d press the Help button on her bed and seemed annoyed when they came to the room. When we were set to leave they removed the IV from her arm and failed to properly bandage her and blood starting gushing down her arm. Overall a terrible experience. Sorry for inconveniencing you Edward with our health issues. Shame on you.

I am instigating a lawsuit, so I ca not go into detail at this time. I went to ER two nights ago to be seen after passing out and hitting my head and hip on sidewalk. I was admitted very quickly. All down hill from there. Said they would do x-rays, CT, blood test and ekg test. They never did any test other than blood test. I was only visited twice in my room in 5 hours. Temp in ER was 48 degrees. They offered one blanket and said that is all they had. After 4 hrs and 45 minutes in ER room, I was discharged with no instructions or diagnosis at 3:15 am. I had woke up from 10 minute nap. I urinated immediately on the side of the bed. Nurse came in about 15 minutes later after nurse call button pressed to have urine cleaned up. Th nurse was appalled at the pool of urine. Went on to tell me that I had “disrespected her staff” along with other denigrating comment over the next few minutes. At this time, there were 6 nurses yelling at me (under contract, one of them had to clean up the mess). I was immediately handed discharge paperwork. No further words from any staff. No diagnoses or test results. They reeled me into waiting room and told me to leave the hospital. In turns out I had skull and hip bruising after I was immediate care doctor yesterday. Thy posted on MyChart the blood test results. Nothing else. I called this morning to issue a complaint but when I told them it was more than 4 pages summary, they didn't have time for me to go through. I told them I would be filing a lawsuit after talking to 2 attorneys this morning. No comment from the hospital. Surprisingly they did none of the tests they announced when I first got admitted except for blood work. Then 15 minutes later an EKG result was posted as “abnormal”. The did not perform this procedure and were trying to cover their tracks apparently. I have been to many ER and hospitals over the past 5 years. This was worst experience of all. I was seen at a different hospital earlier in the day. I was provided diagnosis, test and blood results. O f all things I urinated the bed 3 times at that hospital. A different nurse/staff each time. They were ALL good natured and we laughed together.
