Essentia Health St Marys – Detroit Lakes

Back in the 1990s, I was given a quick diagnosis of low thyroid in the ER, and I was placed on too high of a dose of levothyroxine. Thanks to quick thinking doctors in Indiana, they counteracted my overdose with a beta-blocker. More recently, I had an issue resolved last year that only the general surgeon on duty could have solved right in the nick of time.

We have always had a good experience receiving our care here. Thank you to all the hardworking admins, nurses, specialists, and doctors....you have never failed my family.

This Hospital is a joke. I would recommend anywhere else before going here. Unprofessional, rude, clueless, and do not treat you like a person should be treated! When I called to get my lab results I was hung up by the ER nurse who was clueless about her job. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! IF YOU WANT ANSWERS GO TO SANFORD!!!!!

The two experiences I’ve had in the emergency care section of St Mary’s the team has not impressed me in any way. They seemed impersonal, distant, and unconcerned with my situation.

Doctor cancled my prescriptions and dropped me as a patient. Would not give me any reason why or explanation. Very unprofessional and the farthest thing from caring. Will never go there again.
