If there were no stars I would leave that as a review. I looked at the reviews before I came but Community hospital was crowded so I had no choice. As a previous review said if you have infants or young children do not come here. It is understaffed and has no type of protocol for multiple patients. It is an ER so that should be expected. I came in there when there was no one there still a 2 hour wait. I had to go in a holding room because there were no open rooms. The Dr did not give my baby a thorough examination. The nurse in the room with him was very rude didn’t introduce herself or say hello. The triage nurse was friendly but it appears as if she was the only one working. Long story short I went back to Community at 4 am and was in and out and comfortable with the diagnosis and treatments. Please don’t waste your time!!! Go elsewhere.

Had to make an ER visit then was admitted to a room. My care team was amazing. Each doctor, PA, nurse, and aid were outstanding. They were professional, caring, pleasant and made me feel very comfortable. Nurses kept things light and took care of everything on a timely basis. Getting into ER was fast too. VERY pleased with the people there and the care team.

My husband was admitted through e.r. put in icu which is a joke nobody checks on you they all sit out at the desk and watch the cameras I guess. I came to visit right before dinner and found breakfast tray still on windowsill where they moved it to serve lunch. Floor was sticky and dirty after housekeeping spent her 2 minutes in there. After 4 days in icu was moved to a regular room upstairs what a world of difference beautiful room and clean! Very friendly and attentive nurse (Aretha) and wonderfull aide (Diana) so if you can get admitted straight upstairs and bypass e.r. and icu I would highly recommend this facility .

For an empty hospital that’s fully staffed the service is absolutely deplorable. With only 8 patients roomed in the ER I still was left waiting in the room for a simple ultrasound for over 2 hours. Not one single staff member even took the time to pop in and see if I needed anything, if my pain was manageable or had worsened since my arrival. Basic customer service goes a long way, and this place is severely lacking. I’ll stick to Munster Community Hospital. In 13 years of going to them I’ve never been disappointed no matter what the circumstances were.

Doctor's and nurses are very caring but this hospital and emergency room are not equipped to deal with pediatric patients so if your infant or toddler need to see a doctor ..go elsewhere
