Had to make an ER visit then was admitted to a room. My care team was amazing. Each doctor, PA, nurse, and aid were outstanding. They were professional, caring, pleasant and made me feel very comfortable. Nurses kept things light and took care of everything on a timely basis. Getting into ER was fast too. VERY pleased with the people there and the care team.
My mother received better care at an LTAC (Kindra Hospital) then she received at Franciscan Munster, the only reason we took her there was because Community Hospital was on bypass. The Sisters should be SHAMED of themselves, They are building and buying up everything in Indiana and Illinois; but the care that is provided in less then Mediocre. This hospital is a modernized LTAC with an ER.
For an empty hospital that’s fully staffed the service is absolutely deplorable. With only 8 patients roomed in the ER I still was left waiting in the room for a simple ultrasound for over 2 hours. Not one single staff member even took the time to pop in and see if I needed anything, if my pain was manageable or had worsened since my arrival. Basic customer service goes a long way, and this place is severely lacking. I’ll stick to Munster Community Hospital. In 13 years of going to them I’ve never been disappointed no matter what the circumstances were.
Doctor's and nurses are very caring but this hospital and emergency room are not equipped to deal with pediatric patients so if your infant or toddler need to see a doctor ..go elsewhere
Took my brother here and was welcomed by great staff at the front desk. When he was taken back it went downhill. Was asked to leave before the DR. Came in so i waited in the waiting room. Nothing was said and then heard my brother screaming from the room because they were numbing him with a needle. Never even saw the DR. I'm a firm believer if you don't like your job and you have cannot talk to families of your patients then you should not be working an E.R. worst experience I've ever had at a hospital.
